69 SS black rocker panel pics

Getting real close to paint and was wondering if anyone has any pics of the blacked out lower rocker panels. Where do they draw the line ??? I would imagine it would be under the rocker chrome but would like to make sure. Any pics of original cars ?????

Hey Bob. If you do a search here on the forum, you'll find several threads about this. I did a search a while back and found pics and everything. There's some good ones. I'll do a quick look and see what I can find.

What I'm curious about is the finish, especially if you're using a bc/cc paint process. I seem to think the black rocker was a matte finish, so clear coating over this wouldn't look right. Would you paint over the clear with the black paint? If so, how would that hold up? Sorry to sort of hijack the thread, but I think this would be of interest to you as well.

OK, look, just tell me what the finish should be and how to achieve it on a base coat/clear coat system and I'll do it. The other thread says that someone saw an original SS blacked out rocker panel and it most definitely wasn't matte finish.
