Here it is:
396 bored to 408
Holly 750dp
Edelbrock RPM manifold
Ultradyne 288/296 cam
Hooker 1 3/4 headers
Roller Rockers
TH350 tranny built for racing
3500 stall converter
3.73 gears
28x10.5 MT ET streets
All this in a 3200 pound car
What do you think. Also, is my carb size ok, or should i go bigger, and any easy, cheap, mods that will make it go faster. -Dan

You are running ladder bars and traction bars? Please explain, I have never heard of such a set up. Am I missing something here?

That would be an interesting combination! Maybe he meant diagonal track bar?

I just figured that it was possable to put both traction bars and ladder bars. I heard that having a really strong chassis and good traction can give you better E.Ts. I want to have lowest ETs possable, so i figured i would put both on.

No problem, I wasn't trying to tease or anything, I just thought maybe you had a new chassis setup. The ladder bars are your traction bars, if you choose to run them. There are several other options, and depending on what you are going to use the car for, there may be a better way to go.

im sorry to state this but a dialy driver should be built with streetability in the forefront. Dont worry about the strip if you have to drive it everyday, most of our combos that you see the really nice et's are pretty radical and would not be tolerable for everyday driving. There is a difference though, 1 friday night vs 7 days a week on the freeway and how the brakes work and adjusting the carb everynight and it goes on and on. Dont get any tickets with that motor either or you will have a really nice ride, sneekers!!! Your insurance will go through the roof with 1 ticket, pls dont race on the street, you may hit me!

Plus racing is hell on parts and if your younge a doubt you can afford new parts all the time. Like a member says," the only man who can afford cheap parts is someone who can afford to replace them."

One thing I would do is run a shorter tire and/or a steeper gear, preferably the gear. UD specs your cam up to 6800 rpm, and since the 396 is a 'small' BBC, it will have the highest rpm range for any given BBC cam. At 6800 rpm you will be going about 138 mph, even with 10% converter slip. If you set a target speed of 115 in the quarter, with your present setup you will be running about 5700 rpm in the lights, leaving 1100 rpm on the table. Switching to 26" tires will increase your trap rpm to about 6100, and if you use the 26" tires with 4.11 gears, you'll run about 117 mph @ 6800 rpm.
Install a set of Flowmaster 4-2-1 collectors on your headers, it will increase the primary length and improve the scavenging.
Install a roll bar in your car, it will help your traction by making the chassis stiffer. You will need one anyway if you run 11.99 or quicker.
Do you have a fresh air induction system?
