Just wondering how much of difference will a 7 blade OE clutch fan make from a 5 blade OE clutch fan. I'm trying to stay with a stock appearance.

I have a high flow pump new clutch and new 4 core rad and a high flow thermostat. The only time I get too hot is in really bad traffic and 90' plus weather. thanks

Since you have a new clutch I would recommend the 7 blade for the bad traffic situation. The 7 blade will really pull a lot of extra air Thur the rad. at low engine speed. If you get a 7 blade make sure to get it for the clutch you have now. THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT SIZES.

Thanks Bob,

I just got one on ebay that is for the 68 camaro # 3931002 7 blade. I will give it a go as my last option to stay with a stock appearing engine.

I have the 7 blade fan in only problem is it lines up worse than the 5 blade did in the shroud, it's too far to the drivers side and an inch out of the shroud. My guess is to take a close look at my engine and frame mounts and see if they are correct. But the main thing is if it keeps cool, and so far so good.

thanks Bob, no AC. I just wanted to go with L78 pulleys all around a little more expensive but they should last a lifetime.

The engine is offset by one inch to the passenger side though because the drivers side mount is taller. I read that there were not any small block frame mounts that did this?

Either I have 67/68 BB frame mounts or 69BB mounts. I have to check. What's the easiest way to tell?

Once I figure that out I have to see what engine mounts are there. Does it look like the 69 interlocking one?

Bob, thanks for the help, it is hard to measure but I think it is 1 3/4" on the drivers side frame to bolt hole.

The passenger side is 1 3/4" also.

Johnny,
I have a pair of frame mounts and they measure 2" so your measurements are close. If you have SB mounts then this could be your problem.
Does anyone have a drivers side BB 67,68 frame mount they can measure from the frame to the center of the bolt hole?

Bob, I think I am going to order a new set of the proper frame brackets and motor mounts for a 67 BB 396. It should only be about $150 but thats with all new bolts also. Then I can put this mystery to rest and hopefully it will put the engine in the right spot.
When I get the ones out that I have in the camaro I will post up what they are. My guess now is 69BB interlocking motor mounts. The frame brackets at 1 3/4" matches the left hand side of a 69BB bracket but the pass side I can't find a match at that height. The right hand side of a 69BB frame mount is 1 3/8".

Johnny, for 69 BBC the drivers side bolthead is against a sleeve (oh man, the proper name has gone poof in my mind) that holds the bolt in position so as to pass through the interlocking engine-side bracket. It's shown on page 745 of Classic Camaros 2006 catalog. Exactly like my original.

Fred, I'm not sure of what you mean. Are you saying that the mount I have in the pic does not look like the 69BB one.

 And Just checked CI online for a picture. Nothing. Only the part description.

Fred I am going to just get new ones but is there anything to be worried about when it comes to the stock mounts for 67/68. I read about the recall back in the 70's.

Na, they're all interlocking now. Aren't they? Who would make such a thing?
