I know its a scam but....

I answered to an ad on craigslist. And I got this for a response.
I dont understand how this scam works. Does anyone had any
experience with this type of scam or do you know how it works?

Sorry for answering you so late but because my work i didn't had access
to my computer until today.
I work for an oil company and most of the time I am deployed and I don't
have access to internet all day.
The car is in perfect condition,no accidents in the pass,clean

history,clear title under my name with 3 years available warranty.
It is located in Helotes, TX and as payment method we can use eBay
purchase protection program.This means that I will not have any money
until you will receive and inspect the car.
So please let me know if you are interested in buying my Odyssey.

a freind of mine got his atv stolen ,then he was surfing around on craigs list and saw a pic of his honda atv and it was out of new orleans , then saw the same pic for more money out of mobile al. he called all the numbers and no one would pick up they only would contact his email ,he finely got someone to meet him to see the atv and it was 10 miles from his house in gulfport ms the guy had paperwork on his atv and said he buys and sells atvs needless to say my friend got his atv back but no one was charged

When you use the ebay purchase program, its only valid and protects you if you are dealing with a person from the USA. It wont protect you from over seas buyers that tell you the car is stateside, when in all actuality, its not. It probably doesnt even exist.
Email him back and tell him you want the VIN to run a carfax report on it. See what he says then. If it comes up clean and you can have someone verify the VIN it could be legit.

Harley I found the ad in the Toronto's craigslist for $15000. a 07 Honda Odyssey EXL in Ontario sells for around $25000 :clonk: and the other thing is that no one from Texas will put a ad in Toronto. I have had two of this Nigerians

so as you can see they are very similar, and with this guy I told him that I was in Myrtle Beach, SC, no shipping need it, and the min I asked if I can go look at the Van he never answer again.

like I said I know is a scam but they only know how it works I guess??

Steve everything is good up here thanks for asking. I like playing with this guys but one has to be very careful with them!!! alot of po last money on scams like this!!
This is a email I've sent to another one a week ago

"please accept my sincere apologize for my late reply, I just arrived in Nigeria and I want to make a deal with you!!!! I will sent you $25,000.00 US in a Nigeria bank note you keep the $14,000 + the shipping and sent me back the change in US $$$$$. So... sent me your address fast so we can seal the deal !!!
Thank you for the good deal!!! "
