I am talking Canadian funds. SO yeah go with the 540 it will cost virtually the same as the 502.

373 is all I got, and its cool on the street.
The car goes through the traps at 6000rpm at 129mph with a 28" tire.

Hey Canadian_Hot_Rodder do you have the link for those engines?

Thanx for all the replies everyone, with the 32" tires I'll need a deeper gear than a regular car running 25-28" tires. But I think the 5;13's may be too high for the street also but will try them.

With 32" tires and 5.13's, you will have to rev to over 7000 rpm to finish the 1/4. Assuming 128+ mph. 4.30's will be about perfect, you'll be about 6000. I wouldn't do anything over 4.56's. If you do a th350 or th400, with 4.30's your rpm at 60 will be about 2800.

It spins about 5 to 10ft out the hole. I just have some homemade traction bars that hit under the front bushings with an adjustable bolt instead of a rubber snubber.
And some Comp Eng. 3-way adjustable drag shocks up front. The pinion angle is 4 degrees. I know the 60ft sucks, but I plan on doing some more suspension work soon, it should get in the high 1.40s - one day, I hope.

Hey boodlefoof, I am also looking for a new engine I was wondering if you or any one else out there has ever done business with www.allchevyengines.com ( the prices don't look too bad.)

Bill Mitchell engines are bad! I dont know if they have a URL..(searched but couldnt find it..) but I have their catalog..for $10k you can get a freakin awesome big block..email me private if you want their phone # to request a catalog (free).
