I watched this auction all the way as it counted down to 0. No one, and I mean no one placed a last second bid. That car looked like it was WELL BOUGHT at 39,600!

What does that say about the market?

hmmm...

I had $39700 on the bid, and backed out, thinking it would rocket up past $50k at least! Sorry I did not pull the trigger now! I think its less an indicator of a soft market, but does say that there are deals out there-especially when the sale ends late Sunday night!

I tried to call this guy, sent him emails and everything I could do to talk to the seller about this car. I was very interested, but no responce from the seller. I have made up my mind that I will not buy a car unseen and inspected! I think something was fishy about this deal???

I think it says volumns about the economy. It has to. I was interested in a camaro a few weeks ago and contacted the guy. He imediatly dropped the price $2,500 after I didn't get back to him the next day. He said he needed to sell the car, got the feeling he had lost his job or something along those lines. It was a good deal at the original asking price. I have enough going on with two cars - but I look at cars all the time and see crazy prices. my g.f. is finance manager for 3 dealerships in town.. she's "on the front lines" if you will. She says Kia is outselling Hondas.

The seller not answering questions is one of the reasons it did not sell for more. Two weeks ago I was interested in an 08 GMC Sierra Denali loaded w/ Nav, but the seller did not answer my simple questions; therefore I did not bid. The truck sold for $25K. Identical trucks are SELLING on Ebay for $30K - $35K. Internet sellers really need to give potential buyers a good sense of trust if they expect people to buy sight unseen.

seller could have easily had a second ebay account and bid the first bid himself. I have no evidence that thats what happened here, but it's another possible explanation for a car that sold for less than half of the seller's claimed investment. Especially with the lack of answering potential buyer questions. If I were selling a car in this price range I'd have all my info ready to fire at prospective buyers...

Also, it looks like there was not one pic of underside of car.

I have a car on ebay for sale . It has been on for two days and I have received at least 20 inquiries and have responded to all of them and now have dialog going with some of the people.... you can't sell a car on ebay if you don't respond to people. The buyers will not feel comfortable and will move on to another car.

Also , I like the color but it is not very popular. On the sYc poll Burgundy is tied with 5% of the vote with Hugger Orange being # 1 with 30% , Tuxedo Black 28% and Le Mans Blue 22% . If this car was one of those colors it would have seen much more action in my opinion

And I will add this... in two pictures the front passanger side fender is missing the X33 style trim yet in most of the pictures the trim is there. The one question the seller did answer was

Q: Hi, very nice looking car, im wondering how much of the appearance of the vehicle was "cleaned up" prior to sale? or is this in its original...more Dec-10-08
A: Nothing was cleaned up except engine.

I realy would have bought that car if only the owner would have answered my emails. When you get a funny feeling about something, better to leave it alone. He proaby had some of his buddies bid the car, hoping it would jump up in the last minute. I know something was wrong for that car selling for that price??

How could you possibly list something like this on ebay and not answer questions. That just makes absolutely zero sense to me. Like Van mentioned I am very anal about answering questions about items im selling on ebay. Either something is fishy or the guy is, for lack of a better term, an idiot. If its legit he would be costing himself thousands of dollars by ignoring questions.
