Not sure I follow you. Can you elaborate on "aluminum LIKES heat"? My car always slowed down when I hot lapped. Seems that if aluminum "likes" heat it would pick-up.

'

if u have the cash , go for aluminium
if u'r poor, like me, go for iron

The reason why aluminum engines (or aluminum parts on an engine) feel "hotter" than their iron counterparts is not that the aluminum parts are hotter by any means. They are in fact at the same temperature or COOLER than iron. However, they just feel hotter because they transfer heat more readily, aka faster (aluminum has a higher thermal conductivity). So if it can more heat more rapidly, then it will feel like it is hotter.

I noticed aluminums heat up faster, resulting in less time choked wasting gasoline. Also, if running a thero activated electric fan, the aluminim heads react faster to cooling and cycle the cooling system on/off in a more direct response to inlet water temperature. Iron heads (on the other hand) take longer to react to the cooled (fan on) water inlet temperature, resulting in significantly more fan on time!

just my observations between the two.

Really? My car also slows down the hotter it gets, my best ET's/MPH's are at 160 engine temp. Must be the magic beans I put in my intake...

EXACTLY! best ET's for Iron headed engines are at about 120 degrees. [/QB]</font>[/QUOTE]I'm sorry but I can't let this one go. 120 degrees? You can't start one, stage it and do a burn out without it being at least 160 even if it is 25 deggrees outside! Most big block iron headed engines like heat. Mine for example. Please give it a break, CNC your ignorance is shining thru.

Ever run one down the track, boy? Or are you just using your two times racing a 6 cylinder to call me an idiot? What is your response to the 120 degree issue? My best ETs in my Vega have been when I stage at 190*. Please enlighten us with your circle of friends experiences, while you WATCHED! You are a joke and why you are tolerated here is still beyond me. Do us all a favor and go play Vice City or something and leave racing to the MEN that do it on a regular basis and may have something of value to contribute.

Idiot.

First off A$$hole i participate in the local bracket Series regularly!
Every weekend!!

Does it ET best at 190 becuase you cant get it under 190????

My friends all drive keep there's cold for Best ET.

And yes, even with my 6 cylinder it will ET better the colder it stages at.

WHY DONT YOU PEOPLE DO ME A ****ING FAVOR AND ETHIER BAN ME OR SLICK HERE.
I'm sick of this jerk-0ff responding to my every facking post with facking critisism.

Maybe i'd listen to a word you say if your information wasnt surrounded by insults A$$hole.

ONE OR THE OTHER, the guy who tells everyone that they're ride should be thrown away becuase it ET's slower then his "500hp" show car, that has only 1 run on it, that was on radial tires!!!!
Bases his advice on the drag car vega he just BOUGHT, and doesnt even race from what i know?
I've never seen you post anything constructive AT ALL, nothing about your Drag Car's ET's, combo, nothing.

Or the guy who Used to actually give advice until everyone and there brother started busting his balls about every facking post he made.

I dont give a sh!t anymore about this facking forum, you ethier want me or you dont. You tell me.
I have no problem posting until some jerk-0ff fallows me through my every post just to contradict, insults and threaten from afar.

You people relised in a recent thread you argued with one of the countried BEST up and coming racers, i'm NOT talking about me, but Scott.
He has an NHRA WALLY, something that very few people on this board own!!! and he's 16!!!

If you people actually want to turn this board around, then STOP argueing with people like Tom (Chicane67), Scott, Ed Bigley, Dave Ray, Garret Albreight, todd Geisler, ect, who actually have a point to make, and that is to share their extensive knowledge.

That is what i'd LOVE to do on this forum, read INTERESTING, INFORMATION FILLED, SMART posts, not this bullshit!

I hear from Plenty of people through local car shows, and race tracks that are BRIGHT that they dont post on this board becuase of the bickering and bullshit!

CNC, please do not compare your tiny little 6 cyl to anything that resembles a race car. Got any friends that have ever staged a BBC at 120 degrees? On a 80 degree day (mild this time of year) when they are going rounds can they ever get it to even cool off to that temperature? I leave the pits at 140, get to the staging lanes at 160 and with a little luck can start my burn out at 160-165. By the time I stage, I am a minimum of 180, 200 at the big end and 210 at the time slip booth. With my cool down procedures, I can get it back to 145 or so in about 15 mins. All this with an outside temp of about 95 degrees. I wouldn't bust your balls so much, if you weren't such an idiot. But you are, so I will continue to call you out on your moronic posts, as long as you insist on making them. Idiot.

Hey dumbass, try cooling the engine while in the staging lanes!!!!
ever think of that one smart-a$$????
Enter the box at 120 degrees idiot.
From there, its the effectiveness of your cooling system.....and LEAVE YOUR PUMP AND FAN ON!!!

My apologies to the members. I refuse to continue this idiocy.
