Currently in the process of pulling out the original rear end out of my 69 camaro. Looking to go with the complete Moser set-up. I am trying to get a narrowed rear that will accomodate a 9.5" -10" tire without the mini-tubs. Any known standard length that someone already has??
I was told this was possible, but need some help. Anyone been down this road??
Thank you

The width of the rear end doesn't really have anything to do with what size tire will fit in the stock untubbed wheel well. You need to concentrate on the backspacing and width of the rim. If you don't plan on tubbing the car, I'd recommend a stock width rear. A narrowed rear might get you into the pickle of a wheel that's not possible to build.

BPOS is right.
I purchased my wheels with a 3.5" backspace, then cut my axle to fit. If you already have your axle, just measure and order your wheels with the proper backspace.
I have 10.5" wide tires in the stock wheel well, but I relocated the shocks inboard to get it done. Here is a picture:

X3.... I also have a stock 12-bolt with drum brakes and have a 18x9.5 rim with 5.5 back space, tires are 285/40/18 no mini tub.

Most of the time it is best to get the wheels and tires first. Then you can put them under the car (with the rear end removed) and measure the distance between the mounting flanges. This way you can order the rear end exactly the right width for what you need. I can help with the order if you need it.

That is the best answer I have heard from everyone. And it makes so much sense. I do have the rims and tires, So this sounds like the best bet!! your the man.
Beautiful car you have by the way!!

I would like your help with ordering it as well!!
I was going to order directly from Moser. Can you also provide the same add-ons like powdercoating and such?? What about pricing??

Nice ride!! I guess that would be the best way to get it done. I have the wheels but want to replace the rear axle with something like a Moser set-up.
How did you go about re-locating the shock mounts?? Did you re-weld them to the inside??
