I am looking for some advice on which POLISHED aluminum radiator with dual electric fans to buy for my street camaro.( 1969 z28 - 302 - 450 hp- manual transmission. The be cool show & go model( #81768) runs about $2000. Would like to buy one of similar quality but at a lower price. Thanks.

The Be Cool stuff is nice but, it is over priced. The thing you are paying for is the research is already done and it bolts right in. If you don't mind taking some measurements and maybe a little fabrication you can get the same type of results for less than half the price. Figure out what size core you want/need, where the oulets need to be, look up an AFCO radiator that meets those needs, then find a fan set-up that will fit that core. You can get a good quality aluminum radiator for less than $400, you can then have it polished locally.

Now if you are strictly a buy it and bolt it in type of guy, that's where Be Cool comes into play.

I have the Be cool radiator kit that I bought a couple of years ago. It isnt the polished one but I did polish it. I have the black fans also which are about 350.00. The chrome ones are 735.00. WOW big difference.

If I was to buy one again I would buy this one off of Ebay. Only thing I dont like about it the weld across the top but you could have a shop bend you a piece to go over it. That is what I have on my prostreet car.

Here it is unpolished.

We can get you a PRC radiator polished for about for roughly HALF of BE COOL. Give us a call if we can help.

The radiator that Mike prostreet69 shows on ebay is the one that I have. It is an Entropy. And I love it. It is not as polished as their picture shows but is easy to make it that way. It cools great and cost me around $720 including the wiring harness for the fans and shipping. Price may differ because of shipping to your area. If you do a search for aluminum radiator and dual fans installed I have posted some pics in an earlier post of mine. It will show you my set up.

Griffin. $450. Summit. Clone of L78 original. Not a Z. I cut off the mounting tabs and shined her up myself.

It's not quit exact. My original came with a curved neck.

Thanks for all the replies. Has anyone bought an aluminum radiator for their camaro from this ebay seller (coolcraftad - ebay item # 200194037368)? It is a desert cooler radiator made by US radiator.

I already bought an aluminum radiator, now I'm looking for the dual fan setup. Any ideas?? I know I know I should have bought it as a set right? :clonk:

Spal makes the same fans that are on the picture above that I posted on the red radiator support. Summit has them but they are 359.00. They are dual 11" fans and you will have to make or buy a mounting kit.

They also sell that mounting kit. It is made by Be Cool.

look at BS&B radiators, their out of Ontario Canada stuff looks nice on their web page. I ordered one for my 68 camaro with dual fans and polished aluminum shroud but i haven't got it yet.The guy told me he found me 12" fans that will pull 2150cfm each we'll see, people out here say I need over 4000cfm to cool 750hp bbc properly.

I wish I had gotten the 12" fans for my blower motor I have in my camaro but I already had the 11" setup. You are better off with the 12" fans and they will fit the big block radiator.

If anyone is looking for a great kit, you can order a custom aluminum radiator with shroud, electric fans, wiring harness, relays, sending unit etc.. from Portells Radiator Shop in Desoto, Missouri. I have purchased two systems from him. One for the Camaro and one for the Corvette. Top notch equipment and much less expensive than many others.

Got any pics of the set up?? Price??

I have a picture of the installed radiator at home. I can e-mail it to you because I suck at posting pictures on here. When I bought the setup 4 years ago, I think it ran me $900.00 for everthing.

I have an AFCO and I love mine. It was 370 bucks off of ebay + shipping. It cools my 500+ hp 406 with no problem. Looks good and works with the factory shroud/clutch fan setup too. :D It was a direct bolt in replacement, no fabbing mounting brackets or drilling extra holes to mount it to the core support. The only thing I had to make was the top support bracket because it isn't possible to attach the stroud to the rad like you can a stock one. The sides of the rad facing the engine have tabs to support/hold the bottom of the shroud in place.
