Should the flex brake line threads to the caliper be teflon typed? Based on the posts I read here no brake line parts should use any kind thread tape but at the same time I see pics where people clearly did. Any ideas? Thanks...

Ouch! $56 for a little tube. That must be 5 bucks for a drop or two.
You can purchase it in smaller cheaper sizes but the price on fastenal is for one tube that size-it was just the first google link I came across. You only use enough to fill in the engaged threads of the fitting so a little goes a very long way.

Use liquid teflon on the threads. You can get small tubes at your auto part stores.
