power brakes,
very nice hounds tooth interior,

Can you guys estimate a value? Here are the pics. The owner said he wants to sell for 25k. I was thinking 23k max. What do you guys think?

If it runs and drives as good as it looks, I think the asking price seems pretty reasonable. It you can get it for $23K, that would be even better.

Does everything line up, nice body? Were the floor pans, etc installed correctly/decently? Does he have paperwork on the motor? I think your right on value, maybe a touch high if your looking for a deal, but 23k max is what I would put it at as well.

He has all the paperwork and yes it is all in perfect condition. He agreed to sell for 23k. Here is the catch, I am financing part of the cost through a private lender and the lender requires a TITLE. THe owner only has a bill of sale for when he purchased the vehicle, no title. Do you guys know how to get around this? Or how to quickly get a title replacement? Has anyone had experience with this?

The car was just on ebay (AUCTION 150338791036) and barely made it over 15k. I wouldn't offer much more than that to be honest. Any time I see standard door panels and deluxe seats (or vice versa), this throws up a big red flag. I always ask myself, "What else has been thrown together on this car?"

Ed
Camaros are not really selling well on ebay because you cant actually inspect the vehicle. 15k is way less than what the car is worth. It is in basically brand new condition. 15k is the Gold Book "average" value. THis car is way above average. 23k is a good deal.

If you already had your mind made up, why did you ask for opinions???

It's a buyers market right now and ALL cars are down anywhere from 10 to 50 percent from just a year ago. If you believe the car to be worth 23k, then buy it. It makes me no nevermind. This is exactly why I never post in the "What's it worth" section. I tend to p!$$ people off.

You didn't piss me off, I just wish you could see the car in person. I understand where you are coming from, the market is down and prices are down. I do appreciate your input.

I agree that the car looks nice on the outside, but there are some odd things seat covers, Tach on an auto car, steering wheel etc. A deeper look would be wise. I have seen plenty of cars that lok new on the outside, but inside they are rusted out or full of holes like swiss cheese. Like always buyer beware and try to get pictures of the build. Some time you can luck out and get a great deal, and sometimes not so lucky. A thorough investigation is what makes for a good purchase.

I went and checked it out Yesterday. Amazing condition, whole car was stripped down and sand blasted. Interior is awesome.

without a title? is it from a state where it is not required if 74 or older? im not sure, but that brings the value down a touch in my opinion. i will say, i sold my 67 rs/ss not in near nice condition, but dayumn nice for 19k last summer. here is a pic of it...

Yeah, in GA you do not need a title for old vehicles.

Beautiful car, was it all original engine and trans? What are the specs?
Not original motor (GM Crate Motor 1969 from Mexico) The car was from New Mexico. Not original tranny (from 69 as well m20). 12 bolt was the original. It had good cruise show paint job, very nice but some flaws in the paint. The interior was a bench seat (not original) covered in man-made leather. The engine was clean, but not detailed.

Every state is different. For 1968, GA is a "title optional" state. You can get one, but don't need one.
Every lender is going to want to retain ownership untill the loan is satisfied. Holding title is the easiest way for them to do that.
Have the seller get a title, find a lender that will work around not having a title, or pay cash for the car.
It's really that simple.
