When I got my kit, it did not exactly fit, so I routed it the way it "wanted to go". Big mistake....the valve cover could not be removed without removing the fuel line. I adjusted the angles a bit on the lines and got it where it's supposed to be.

Also, you didn't ask, but early cars used a normal brass Y-Block. Later cars used one with a bracket on it, which attaches to a special stud that replaces one of the intake bolts. The Y block is available repop, but mine was raw brass. It should be sort of a silvery gray color. I used chrome paint from Auto Zone and after it dried, I buffed off the sheen with a rag. It looks almost identical to the real one I once saw.

Don't know what you have tried, but the piece from the fuel pump routes between the water pump and the engine, then roughly parallel to the valve cover. Mine needed to be "adjusted a little (maybe 5*) to get it to align. I think I had to loosen the fuel pump to get the fitting to start.

I'm curious as to what the rest of the car looks like, do you have any pictures? I'm planning on building something similar with my convertible project except I'm going the 6 speed route. Right now it's got a 383 and a T56. Anyway... I'd enjoy seeing some other pictures if you have any.
