I just recieved my copy of Camaro Performers today and as I'm
reading the article on page 8, I see a reference to Team Camaro. As I read on, I see the famous " Who's From the south side of Chicago?" On the next page is a great picture we took at turtle head lake.
Thanks Don, for the great article and the awesome picture.
Mike:beers:

Very cool to be in Camaro Performers this month. After reading the section I looked up my sent messages in case I was a little too happy when I
sent them the email. The magazine reads "So on a recent Saturday fifty or so of us in the local forest preserves got togetherat the usual meeting place to check out each others cars. We had a great time." My email to them was "Anyway this Saturday it was 50 or so and a few of us got together in the local forest preserves to check out each others cars" The rest is pretty accurate. Maybe those California guys don't realize that a 50 degree day in the Chicago area on April 11th is a good thing, and thought I mis-typed. It really makes no difference. It was cool to see us in the magazine and makes me look forward to when a whole bunch of us can get together at sunset when the pictures come out better for another photo shoot and a chance to get together. (sunrise is not my thing) Then I'll send them off again and see what happens.

Anybody getting together tomorrow night? It's the first Wednesday of the month. :beers:
Bad timing for today.

Where is a good Wednesday show around?
I know they do one in bolingbrook at the promenade (I55 & I355 near Bass Pro Shops) every wednesday night. They close off the streets for it. Although the last 3 weeks the weather hasn't been great on wednesday, cloudy/rain.

Drove my car in the local 4th of July parade yesterday. A serious test of the cooling system. Last year with the stock radiator and old iron headded engine, I was sweating bullets as I watched the water temp keep rising. Even with putting it in neutral and revving her a bit I watched it go to 220 then 230, then 240. I was waiting for her to puke in front of hundreds of people. As soon as the parade was over we hit the road and the temp came down to the usual 190. This year with the new engine, aluminum heads and radiator (and about 150 more horses) We hit about 225 at the very end. Much better. Even did a small burn out in front of the cops on main street much to the delight of the crowd. Anything happening today?

Don, try to make it out to frankfort grainery on thursday nights.

Oh, and for those that haven't heard. Rumor has it, Kmart management on harlem kicked the show out of their lot which caused a ripple effect on Applebees show, something about a rediculous insurance policy requirement kmart wanted. Word is, they moved to Odyssey fun world at 191st and harlem.
As I've heard, they have been allowed access there in the "back" lot.

Jeff, are you talking about this yellow one?
Tim, Yes that is the one. It's mentioned on another post here and Stephano invited me out to see the car in person (again). I'm going to find out the shop hours and set something up.

Don, You got anymore free weekend days off coming up? Maybe we can set this Nickey Chicago thing to fit your schedule.

Jeff

Finally got the July issue of Camaro Performers so I could see the picture of our cars that Don submitted and I will say it is very cool the see them in there!! Nice job on the write up Don and thank you for submiting the picture! My step daughter was pretty psyched about it so I had to buy a copy just for her own.

Any plans to try to get the Team Camaro SS group together yet this summer? Seems like our Wed night get togethers have kind of fizzled out with the warmer weather and the large number of shows/cruise nites. I am still open to gathering here at my place if there are enough of you that are interested, just let me know!

Tim...........have you have the White car out yet??
