Air Cond cover change for Big Block?

Hi there,

I understand if I swapped my small block in my 68 SS for a big block the big blocks engine mounts move the engine over to the right about an inch and a half....or?

The car has air conditioning. Will I have to change the air conditioning condenser cover?

You will have to change the evaporator case on the firewall.

Ah...I got it wrong....evaporator when I said condenser...

Are they fairly easy to come by? The big block evaporator cover?

check with www.oldairproducts.com out of Texas. They have alot of a/c stuff,

Unfortunately the big-block suitcase is not reproduced yet, so they aren't easy to come by. The outside half of the suitcase is the same as the small-block one, but the inside half is different. The POA valve location is also different.

Your best bet is to keep an eye on ebay and the classifieds here. There's a guy in Florida who sells them occasionally on ebay, but I can't remember his name right now.

I sold one a couple of years ago so I can attest that they're not cheap.
