Hi:waving:.....What octane rating did this high compression motor call for?.....Is it possible to feel a flat spot or hesitation on quick acceleration if running lower than required octane rating?

The L-79 camshaft installation I recently finished was a success however I'm still trying to chase down that annoying flat spot I had with the race cam and still have!.....I've been running Sunoco Ultra 94 pump gas recently and was just wondering if the fuel volatility is too low or too high with this fuel.....I can't recall having this problem when I was running the Turbo Blue racing fuel!.....I'm running a stock Holley, #80457, 600 cfm carb and was wondering if I'll need to increase the jetting, would this eliminate that flat spot?.....I still haven't fine tuned the air fuel mixture but I'm just wondering if that would even do anything?

Ron that's a single inlet 4160 vac sec carb, check your accl pump adjustment and squirter if the flat spot or stumble is when you first put your foot into it. The stock accl pump cam may not be providing enough squirt duration and the squiter itself may not be providing enough volume.
The other thing is if the vacuum sec's open too early you'll get a stumble, you would notice it more when rolling into the throttle.
