I had a similar problem like this when I owned a 67 El Camino.
The frikin car was faster than a speeding bullet and it was possessed. She dogged me every time I tried to show off, but came through every time I needed her to.
When I would talk about selling it something would always break down. If I kept my mouth shut she was happy. Sometimes weird fluid leaks would show up on the floor of my garage for no apparent reason.
There are also some people in the world whom bleed from various areas on their bodies spontaneously for no apparent reason.
Crazy!

Looks like your ride is trying to tell you something.
Remove those braces!
She's outgrown those old ones and wants new shiny ones.
Cue up Steven King's "Christine" here *** :D

I have to agree too with some liquid being trapped inside and it is now oozing out. I had the same problem with some engine compartment bracing tubes on my 74 Nova that also have the ends crimped. Mine were acid dipped and they filled up and even after soaking in a nuetralizing liquid they did not get flushed out. Luckily I had another set and didn't have them dipped but instead blasted to clean them.

How does fluid of any kind in the fender brace create the stain I circled in the picture? How does it flow uphill and climb onto the flattened part of the brace and leave such a uniform stain on and off the brace in the circle? Am I missing some basic physic's? I understand liquid being in the brace, just not the pattern left behind from it leaking out...

Being as the flattened part of the tube will not flow the full amount of liquid in the tube and the most likely spots on a flattened end, like that one, is right along the top edge and bottom edge. If he lifted his car at the front and the liquid runs back to the end it will drain though both holes at the same time leaving that kind of mark on the top side, in his case it does not look to be running out of the bottom edge but thats just luck of the draw when the end was pressed and/or corrosion over the years gunked up the bottom edge. I have had the same happen to me in the past.
