Nice pass! I love the fact you line up next to a car with a scoop and all the race looking parts and your car looks like a cruise-in show queen, and you spank him.. I love doing that, it almost makes me want to keep my ralleys.
I like the commentary at the end, "oh my gosh, Paul beat him!" :D

LOL! That car next to me is my friend John's. A stripped out six cylinder car with a cage, one seat, dry rotted slicks south side bars and powered by a little 350 (tow vehicle is a ratty 68 chevy pickup...I call him sanford & son racing, LOL). He loves to brag that he's only got 3k into that thing...it sat in his yard forever until I bugged him long enough to put it together and get it to the track. I don't know where he got that hood but it's not like he needs it, LOL! He did run 11.99@111 that night...he's got a 427 BBC with rect heads ready to put in it. Since the car weights pretty much nothing he'll probably go faster than me with the BB.

LOL, "cruise-in-show-queen"...my car looks great from 50 feet but up close it ain't no "queen", LOL! Lots of dings and chips!

Blah, blah, blah...I love "race night"!

You should be proud! You are really wringing that combo out with relatively mild components. There are plenty of jealous guys (more than likely including me) with more aggressive combos out there.

I just hope my spring runs will eventually match yours.

I agree. Nice times, and car!!! I went to the track today as well. Byron, IL. 44°, overcast. Freezin to be honest. Their final day of the year.

This post intrigues me with your 60 ft times. I have included a picture of my last run today, and the car's best 60 ft time to date. (1.687) I think I will add a set of Caltracs this winter and that will be it.

I am like you. 11.50's in this car is just fine, street car, occassional show. Mostly original. Would really lik to keep it that way.

Again, nice car and best of luck!!!

Caltracs work from what I hear...if you want to use traction devices they would be a good choice...no traction devices for me though, I can get 11.5's without them.

great times Paul, you've got me thinking about those Flex-a-Form springs
I was thinking about you the other day Tom...if you've got wheel hop with your current leaf springs (Hotchkis?)...you could try my old GW springs, they're heavy but I never had any wheel hop with them ever.

Paul, have you crawled under there to check out the FAF springs for any signs of damage? I'm not suggesting there will be any, but it's always nice to check. You've got to be wringing them out pretty well.

No...but I'll take a look tonight!

If you add on traction devices like a cal trac or even a slapper bar you're going to have to keep an eye on the flex a form leafs and probably make some modifications to make it last. Ask me how I know :)
I'm afraid to ask...but I've pledged to be "traction device" free, LOL!

Ha...went 11.69 and 11.73 again tonight! This time the track was bad so my sixty was 1.614 and 1.667. Soooo with a good track and a sixty of 1.56 or 1.57 I might just be 11.50's...or maybe that's just wishful thinking, LOL!
