Not many pics on his EBAY ad. Your right there is still lots of work to be done including paint. Body in primer kills it for me. Good paint work is expensive this day and time and very hard to get someone you trust to do it without keeping your car forever.

I would bet $1000 that this never meets reserve. These guys have a lot of money in their cars that they are still trying to get out of them. Even thought the markey for these cars has depressed.

Is your Superbird the one that was on Musclecar this past weekend?

This is my car guys.

KZ1000, the auction clearly states that there is a link to pro-touring.com. There are multiple engine shots on there.

69GMC, my reserve is 20k less than I have in the car. My auction says what I have in the car, so anyone can deduce what the reserve on the car is. Definitely long past the day of trying to "get my money back out of the car." You are right though. My reserve is more than 15k. You can't build that motor and transmission with the fuel system to run the engine and the computers to run the engine and trans for 15k.

I really don't expect to sell it. I'm willing to lose almost half my investment but no more. What I have in the car doesn't count any of the hundreds of hours of labor. If someone is looking for an injected BBC Camaro with an automatic overdrive in it, they couldn't build that car for even close to my reserve. This is a great website. I enjoy reading everyones' opinions.

I have a great friend with a body shop who does killer work. Do you all think I should have the car painted resale red then put it back on eBay?

Mongoose, I would love to make a deal with you, but I can only stand to lose so much.

I'm not sure how high I will go on the bid. I've been wanting a 69 for about 22 years now. I looked at a nice one in Benton Sunday. If it had been just a little nicer, I would have driven it home.
I didn't even realize you were located in Arkansas until just now. I live in Little Rock and go to school at UAMS, but I keep the car at my parents house in Salem up near Mountain Home. 69 is my favorite year for sure. I had another solid 69 body that I sold a few months ago, and then I had the yenko recreation that I talked about in the ebay auction. It was a pretty cool car. Let me know if you have any particular questions. It's nice to talk to a fellow Arkansan on this forum.

If it were mine I would finish the car to sell it. It dosen't seem to be hard to find buyers with money for any car that is done top notch and looks outstanding. It's a lot easier than selling a project and will minimize your loos I believe!

Thanks for the advice Yellow69. I think you're right. The problem is I will have to pay someone to finish it because I have no time to work on the car. I'm not sure it would be worth it to dump that much more money into it. Labor adds up in a hurry... I'm not ruling it out though.

There is a guy on pro touring that can't give his car away for $18k. While yours might be worth more IMO I would still be very surprised if you could get $20k currently. Now if you throw $5K into paint and interior work to complete the car I wouldn't doubt you could get $35-$40k

I saw his car. He is wanting to sell it bad... How much has he dropped the price? 15K? I think I'm gonna have the car finished if it doesn't sell. I've been offered 22k it in the past month. Maybe I should have taken it. I think I'm following your line of thinking though on finishing it. I really think it could do a bit better than 35-40 this spring with a 10/10 paint job. The thing that kills me when comparing my car to his car is that I have about as much in my transmission as he does in his motor and transmission, but that still doesn't make my car worth much if any more.

Robbie, Did you decide not to sell your car on ebay?

I sold it Mongoose. The guy that bought it is actually going to use my body and paint man for the paint job. He's flying in to go over what he wants as far as colors and striping the 22nd. Good luck finding a Camaro. I hope to have another one someday when I'm through with all my schooling.
