Hi im about to install original radio back into car and dont know what face plate is right with deluxe interor . I have walnut ash tray and center dash panel. But most cars i see with that combo have semi flat black radio plates? What is correct? Wood or black? Thanks for the help.

My N30 Steering Wheel is all blue. The car's trim tag shows 12D as a build date. I believe this to be the fourth week of December in 1967. This contradicts with CRG which state the early 1968 N30 Steering Wheel as having black accents.

I believe the prior post was joking about the ashtray. The previous owner did smoke because I threw out some butts from the tray. They were Pall Mall's and although the interiors musky smell is long gone, I have it trapped in a Sterlite container were the radio and console parts are being kepted. There was a thread on bottling old car smell too but let's not stray.

When did they start the chrome egded RS grille in 68? I think mine was built in December and has chrome edge. It's in the shop so I'll have to check next time I'm there.

I just found out Firewheel now has walnut ash tray repos. I like the walnut center section but I guess my early model would have come with smooth black ash tray. Since mine had standard interior I have a pebble grain. Can it be sanded and painted black?

I believe CRG is currently doin research on the 68 RS grilles....http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=1087.195....if you're certain your grill is original, they'd probably like to hear from you..:)

Not sure I follow the second question, but if you're thinkin of sanding pebble grain smooth, NO !...Could possibly make a trade with someone and you'd both be happy...:beers:

repop's woodgrain doesn't match very well
Is that a non-match to original woodgrain center section or to repop center section? FW told me both repops match perfectly??

My grille is not original but I think my drivers side headlamp door cover is. The passenger side was wrecked before I bought the car and the passenger headlamp door cover and the center grille do not have the chrome edges but the drivers side door does.
