Any one know how to a "Radiator Air Deflector" on a 99 Olds Intrigue?
I hit a racoon and it got pulled off. I got the springs that hold it on but can't figure out how they attach.
try looking on http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/catalog/frameset.cfm, . you can look up your vehicle and try to find that part or a part close to it. There are illustrations of how parts/assemblies go together on the car.

I looked there already, it shows the air deflector bolting on, but it doesn't, it attaches with springs so it can deflect out of the way whe you hit speed bumps and parking stops. I've been trying to find one in a parking lot but most of them are missing. Without it, the car runs a little hotter than before.
Thanks for the reply thou.

If you go to gmpartsdirect.com, type in your car info, then go to cooling, then radiator and componets, then air deflector, then next to the price for that part you click on View illustration and you will see a exploded view of all parts and nothing about springs for either a 3.5 or 3.8 L engine car.

Mines a GL with the 3.8, first new car I bought, had .4 miles on it, now it's got 168,117. All the pix I see show it bolts on, but mine has these springs that are about 5" long, 4 of them, they come in from the front, but there is no logical place for them to hook on to. I keep scouring the parking lots - I'm on a mission now!

I'm up to 152,000 trouble free miles myself. Also purchased new, though had like 50 miles on it.

I'm still not sure about those springs, asked my brother who works at a Chevy dealership as a mechanic and he has never heard of them. Hope you figure it out, would like to see what you do.

Nope two springs were attached still when I pulled it off, the racoon impact streched them out of shape. I left those two in place until I got around to replace it. I got the replacement ones for the dealer, but they can't tell me how they attach either! I try and take pix tonight. Still cruzing the parking lots!

I have a 3.5L 02. I'll look, I'm not entirely sure what you are looking for. I have shop manuals too.

Try pics of parts breakdown on http://www.compnine.com/. Maybe post a link & the number of what you are talking about.
