I have always wanted to have a 1st gen camaro and found this 69 SS with a 454 with A/C, front disc brakes, and new Coy rims. It is a rotisserie resto/mod? and the paint looks very good. I am flying in to view it this week but also found this 71 SS with a 454 updated suspension (all powder coated front and rear) No A/C.

I know how to look up VIN codes but I'm no camaro expert and feel a little like a minnow in a pool of sharks. Which car, if any, seems like a better value at $25k ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also does anyone know these cars?

Thanks in advance guys!

That looks like a beautiful car. If you really like it, then enjoy it and don't worry about what you paid. Considering what it cost to build mine I paid too much, but the fun factor makes it worth every penny.

To be honest I am really looking to go more pro touring and this car has an excellent head start (but the sale will not be final until I inspect the car)

If I get this one I will add air ride, covan dash, front and rear wilwood brakes, glass if needed.

As for finding a good "real" camaro been looking for a while now and yes I have found a few in that ball park but they are not ready to be shown. If anyone is aware of a really good deal, I'm interested.

James, I just gotta tell you this; On Hotrod TV, Chip Foose said (you know who he is, right?) "The 69 Camaro is THE most desired car on the planet". Get one and you'll see. The attention from others can be overwhelming.
Oh, the 69 is missing the headrests. No stainless on the drip rails. Paint not rubbed-out well. Can we see the trunk, engine and under carriage?

Ok check my album I have added pics of the engine and trunk. Thanks for the info on the drip rails and head rests.
As for the under carriage, I no longer have the pics sent to me of the under carriage but the front subframes are newly painted and he has reciepts of the suspension rebuild.
I'm not too concerned with this becuase I plan on changing to air ride in a year or so.
I have a deposit on this car but I got registered to bid at the Mecum Auction in Kissimmee FL for the up coming week ... stay tuned

I am also concerned about possible bondo but he claims to have pics of the frame off and metal replacement... we'll see. Any tips on how to tell if bondo is present besides a magnet?
Also I wish I knew more about paint. If the paint is not rubbed out well what can be done to fix this?
I want/need honesty so thanks
