68 frame mount/motor mount question

I have a 68 that had a BB in it and I'm in the process of putting in a SB. My problem is with the BB frame and motor mounts the oil pan is hitting the cross member. Will SB frame mounts raise the motor? Another question would be what combo of mounts would give me the most clearance?

OK after some research it looks like I need 68 302/327 frame mounts. Is this the correct thinking?

In 67 + 68 the small blocks all used the same frame mounts. These are different then the Big Block mounts. When you install the engine, if your harmonic balancer hits your stock sway bar you must add some washers between the engine mount and the engine block. If your sway bar is larger then the stock one, you will have to shim that down.

Doug - is it a stock oil pan?

I know back in the 70s we would swap a 302 and a 396/375 hp engine fairly regularly in a 67 with no issues, other than having to use that washer trick sometimes. But normally didn't have to. If it has a stock oil pan I can't image why it would be hitting the cross member.

No it is not a stock oil pan it's a Moroso 7qt.

Not all 67 68 small block motor mount frame stands are the same . 350 & 302 were the same and 327 were different . They were shorter front to back. So you couldn't put a 327 motor mount on a 350 or 302 frame stand . The 396, 350 ,302 motor mount will all work together.

I am not sure on the original equipment frame stands, but this chart shows that the stands were the same. The engine mounts were different on the 302/350. Frame stands are brackets and mounts are engine mounts.

The 69' 302/350 frame mounts and engine mounts were the short and narrow style when GM redesigned their problem prone 327 mounts in High performance applications.

I need to raise it about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. I will see if I can get the garage warmed up today and double check. Built a new garage but did get around to getting a heater installed yet so it's a little cold.

What length rods did you use - 5.7 or 6 inch? I know lots of people with 383s and some run stock oil pans.
