Doing a restoration on a 1975 camaro, mostly a exterior restoration, as the drivetrain is all in tact.. It does need some mechanical work, but it seems to be very minor.

Going to start with getting some panels striped down the rest of the way and going to put a few patches in the body. It looks like a few quarter panel patches and probably door skins.

Looks like it shouldn't be to hard of a project to tackle.

I figured i'd start a thread here in case we have any questions along the way.

As you can see from the pictures, someone has already had their hands on the repairs.
Luckily for us they didn't get to far into the project and it's pretty much like starting from scratch..

One of the first questions i have is this..
How do the aftermarket door skins fit on these cars.
I'm really leaning towards skins as these are fairly beat up, and the inners have rusted through in the corners.
Granted these are repairable, but i just feel skins are the way to go, as long as the fitment of the new skins are workable.

Chad, Nice looking project. Have you been to the website Nasty z28 ? I have a 76 camaro and they are strickly a second generation website. I am always over there. My site name is 76 camaro car. Lots of good people and good info over there. Check them out.

Looks like you're going great on it! Will you fill in the sunroof hole, or keep it? I filled mine in after 35 years, and glad I did. I regret putting it in back in 1975, and it was a real chore to weld it in, and get the top looking good again!
