71 Pontiac "Freedom Bird" built by Fletcher's Customs , debuted at SEM
I've browsed the boards for quite sometime and just never took the time to post or join. I figure as a builder and shop owner maybe I can be of some help to folks and at the same time learn form some folks also!! Here is the story about the 1971 Pontiac Formula we built for Senior Master Sergeant Ty ingle, Us Air Force
I picked the car from Ty, back in October 2008 to do a simple scuff/shoot paint job and install Kore3 brake kit and get it back to him. Upon getting the car to my shop there were numerous areas that needed attention. Ty had a very small budget that would barely cover my material cost. I was doing the car as a favor for his 20 plus years of service to our country in the Air Force , in which he is still active. I started making a few contacts with my suppliers, dealers, and buddies and before long the car had snow balled into a full blown build with truckloads of donated parts. The community came together ad donated so many parts that are still rolling in daily. Everything from trim to a new 440 stroker engine. Car is going to be insane. Lots of one of kind prototype parts that will later make it to production. Numerous little custom touches that make this std bird a show stopper. Car will be debuting at SEMA 2009 in the Pypes Exhaust booth, then making a appearance with Courtney Hansen on Powerblock TV in December.
Here's what it looked like a few years ago!!
Heres what we are shooting for on the final outcome
