what do you use? Instead of elbow grease
I use mud and grease release but they quite making it
It would make the bugs wash off

Best thing I've ever used is Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover in the pump spray bottle (non aerosol). It also takes off any kind of sticker residue and does not harm paint if not completely washed off like the petroleum based cleaners can.

I have used the stuff, not sure of the name, I think GOO GONE. It smell like oranges, and it works great. SO does WD-40.

X3 on the TWBTR

I also find that if I spray the front of the car (with just water)and leave it for say 10/15 mins the bugs will soften up, and usually make them a lot easier to scrape off. The hardest thing is to walk away with the hose/sprayer out for that short time...and a word to the wise... if using a high pressure hose...take care.

I also find that the good old leaf blower is the way to go to take off any residual water lingering any where in the crevices, eh?

Have a great day!

I use meguers car polish....the last time it was polished was at a show in a meguires demo display (see my sig)....since they have done it (2 guys with machies for 3 hrs)....and since only used their car wash, bugs and crap just wash off.
That was 2 yrs ago.

When I wash I wet /hose the car down
roughly cover roof 1/3 trunk and hood in suds this gives time for the detergents to work
then go over again actually washing
This method is similar to the suggestion to let soak above.
Then rinse off
Then the side
Repeat other side
Then rear and grill
Then wheel wells and whhels 2 at a time.
Depending on the type of day I only clean enough so at no stage the the suds dry.
Finish drying off with soft towels out of the bathroom.

Try windex....You'll love it! :hurray:

Hey! What the last thing that goes through a bugs head before it hits the winshield?:D

Baby diapers are the best. (Not used:D) ?They are 100 cotton and perfect to wax or clean paint. You can buy at Target or Wallmart.

When I owned a detail shop, we would shoot the bugs the with Orange cleaner, any degresser, let it soak while we did the wheels and wheel wells and then shoot it with a pressure washer, or hose, and they come right off. Spray your wheels and wheel well with the shine or your choice and do not wipe, let it drip off. Wipe the wheels when you do the car. If you get any wheel spray on the car it will be washed off when doing the car with a long handled soft brush (Home Depot product). When drying, I would suggest using a chamois and not a towel unless it is 100% cotton without fabric cleaner. Most towels have polyester (Plastic!) and it can scratch those fine finish. Clean the inside with Joy dish soap (The plain kind) carpet & mats with a wash mit, seats windows and dash. It is "gentle" a degresser and mild and cheap to use. Do not use it on the paint unless you want to take the wax off. Newspaper to clean the windows with a vineger solution, except on tinted windows, micro rag on those. Finish the job with a good Carnuba wax and a sponge pad on a buffer. Windows and all. I like the Cyclo dual buffer the best. You don't need to spend a lot of money with all the stuff they sell. It gets too specialized with products for every surface. I like Mequires products. They are a family owned company, since 1904 and sell more car care products than all the other companies combined! Keep em clean and they will last longer!

Try mayonaise sometime its all natural,it works on bugs, tar, misc. crap.
