Last week end I went and looked at a 1969 Camaro yenko clone. Very nice car. One of my concerns was it has a Borg Warner 4 speed which is a good trans. But It had an INDY shifter on it. Can I purchase a Hurst shifter for the borg warner . Why would anyone put a cheap @#$% shifter like that on any car.

The Borg Warner was the stock transmission back then... I wouldn't have wanted it in a Yenko built car though ! The "Indy" is a Hurst shifter. In the 80's, I remember it as a 3-speed replacement ! It may be just the handle !

You are right... my bad...it was the saginaw.

In January 1974 the muncie transmission was replaced by the Borg Warner T10.

In many people's opinion, the T10 is stronger than the M22 "rock-crusher" muncie.

So another wrong part for a Yenko clone. It sounds like a Camaro as a Yenko "look a like", but not a clone.

The trans. itself seems to be in great condition, but the shifter made it very hard to find the gears. When I went to the hurst web site , I could find Hurst shifter for muncie & Sag's but not any listed for the BW.

The stock 4 speed shifter from a Muncie works well on those - thats what I have on mine. Went to the Super T10 after I kept breaking Muncies at the track - 1st gear cluster every time. Went through 4 in 2 years and after I swapped no more tranny problems - but I did snap a couple axles (those were cheaper anyway). The T10 is definitely stronger.
