I drive my 72 BMW as a daily driver. Most recent road trip was about 1200 miles down to San Diego to run a marathon with my son. I also have a 73 Datsun pickup that's been all over the west coast.

A couple of 3,500 trips up into Idaho and Montana together with several 2,300 miles runs up to Seattle and back to visit family, all in the Camaro that's in my sig.

Calgary to Dryden, ON...about 1k miles each way. Had the top down while going through Sask in mid July...sure paid a price for that! Even had a luggage rack on the back...not too good in the rain, eh? Gas prices were sure a lot better back then...but was driving a '67 6 banger at the time.

Minnesota to Seattle and back.. then few years later, Minnesota to Billings MT and back. Awesome trips, longest to Seattle was over 2500 miles total.
Then Minnesota to KC for a car show, then on to Denver, then back thru Omaha then back to Minnesota. around 2300 miles on that trip.

Long Beach to Albuquerque, up to Cheyenne, across to Omaha, down to Cuba, Mo., over to Indy, and finally home to SE Indiana in my 68 Chevelle. In the course of 3 months before I shipped it to Long Beach, I put the first engine I'd ever rebuilt in it, changed it from a PG to a M22, swapped the rearend, and 12 hours before I put it on the boat for the trip to Ca. , I finished swapping the front springs in it. I didn't have the first problem out of her. I guess my kahunas were allot bigger back then!

in 1979 wife and I drove from San Fransisco to Toronto and again in 1986 from Toronto to Ely Nevada and back with the 67 that was the best time of my life

I can't believe this is all the stories out there!?!?

I did a 1360 mile trip thru the mountains, rain storm, rush hour, road trip thru 7 states, with a 420 h.p. drag car. Don't spend your life polishing that car, enjoy it.:yes::yes: drive it like you stole it!:yes::yes:

A couple years back put just over 2000 miles on the '69 in a week going to Seattle and back. As well at least 1 300-500 mile over nighter with friends every year and several 200-300 mile single day outings every year for the last 8-9 years.

Oh, please.

On one of my recent trips to Seattle in late November, I was running ahead of a winter storm on the way up and had to make it through the mountain passes in southern Oregon before they were closed by snow - 850 mile day. Coming down, I was in snow for the first 200 miles - on 275-40-18's in the back and had to make it past Shasta, again, before it was closed by snow. Truckers were following me in the dark, because my headlights were brighter than anything they had.

I also made a one night run from Philly up to Fall River, Masschusetts, and back (620 miles) in my '66 SS Chevelle - 425hp, 396, Muncie M22, 4.56's in the rear, with cheater slicks on the back. I put it across a bridge on the NJ Turnpike completely sideways for about a 1/4 mile or so. I had to drive like there was an egg between my foot and the gas pedal. No one was ever happier to see dry roads finally in Mass.
