Maybe no paint today Chris, but it is definitely getting close now.
How's the build schedule?
Will you still make the planned shows?

Nev, sure am, it has to be at the trimmers all Oct, only time he can do it, and it's officially booked into Summernats and Vic Hot Road show. WA Motorvation still a ? as still haven't secured a sponsor to transport it (and quote I've got is over $5K return)

Chris, The shows are all very close
SummerNats (Canberra), January 6th to 9th
Motorvation (Perth), January 15th & 16th
Vic Rod show (Melbourne), January 20th to 23rd

Which isn't that bad an agenda but that 3,500 km trip between Melbourne and Perth has got to be the major challenge.
I might try to get over to Melbourne for the Rod show and the bride can go shopping (win / win?)

Problem with perfectionists....they decided to reblock the whole car again, aiming for paint now early next week...

None the less did get some photos

First lot the ghost flames, they mocked up 6

3 panels 2 lots of flames per panel, I only have photos of one panel

the 2 panels I did not get shots of had a gold and magenta pearl, and a blue and a green pearl flicked into the flames

The 1 panel that I did get a photo of (seen below in 2 different angles) was using just more of the same pearl that is being paid n the car anyway, just more coats.

1 of 5 extra coats and the other of 10 extra coats

In this fist pics the flames at the top are 5 extra coats, at the bottom 10 extra

in this second pic the one on the right hand side is 5 coats, left hand side 10 extra

I'm going with the 5 extra coats. Nice and subtle and Love how it changes colour with the change of angle, it's either red, green or yellow flames

The other pics are just as the car stands while they block it...

Thought some might like to see it with the 4" cowl it will be registered with. The shop trying to talk me into staying with the 4" cowl...but no way, it comes off when the plates go on....

I d seriously love the look of these rear treads damn I love the deep dish of these wheels....

I like the 4" cowl hood. What is your plan on a hood??

it will coming off and a flat hood with a tunnel ram and twin carbies (which is technical illegal in Australia) going on.

Then next year an injected blower

Well she finally has paint !!!!

painted yesterday in the oven overnight. Cloudy here today which sucks, but managed to wheel it out into the sun during a break in the clouds.

This has NOT been rubbed back yet, this is as it has come off the gun, so it will be much shinier..

These photos do not do the pearl justice, the reds and greens are hard to see. Greens tend to come out more,but the reds are there also just harder to see

Video at the bottom is better to show it off, but again not as good as seeing it in the flesh.

I have to say I am super happy with this, looks fricken awesome, just the colour I was after...

Oh yeah and in the sun, damn it's bright !!!!

I have a 1 min video that I have tried all day to load up to Youtube and/or Photobucket but keeps failing to load up...not sure why yet, but will try again later to get it up...so just stills for now. The video is way way better

Red in some angles, green in others and can't even see em in direct sunlight. I am absolutely stoked..love em

I like it. I have ghost flames on mine also but next time I will make them a little darker to stand out more.

Finally back in the country after being away for a while with work...

But good news is some meaningful updates.

Car was finished today at the trimmers.

Inline with the smooth theme of the car everything leather wrapped with no screws or studs.

Rear seat over the tubs, double stitching to accent and a bit more bolstering than the original seat came out with.

3 point inertia reel belts (all brand spanking new out of a VE commodore) built into rear seats.

Love the door trim, if only I could have also had no door handle....

Short 1.25 min video (as gives a better overall view of the interior)

And just a random pic that really blew me away with the pearl showing through...have I said how much I love this paint !!!

We aren't far away now, my accelerator foot is getting itchy
