Continuing my search for a 69' I stumbled upon this:

http://www.durandtoyotaford.com/preowned/dsp_viewcar.cfm?vin=124379N655211

It's a real BB car, painted correct color, 12-bolt rear, console with guages, tach, no original paperwork.

Car looks great and would be classified as a nice driver.

What's it worth?

Also, for extra is a 69' 396-375 camaro motor that needs rebuilt. The motor has Alum. 427 heads on it (from vette?). I assume this motor is pretty valuable but really have no idea how much.

Thanks!

Wow a 454 BB ! For less then 23K ! Seems like a great deal to me. But why are they offering you another engine ? is there something wrong with the 454 ? I would luv to have a 454 BB in my Camaro.

All L78 396/375hp had cast iron heads. The L89 375/396hp had aluminum heads and was a VERY rare option.. 311 total produced if my memory serves correctly.
The pics of the car look good...price seems fair. The extra engine price depends on all the numbers from the block and heads. Post the numbers on the engine and a pic of the cowl tag on the car and the experts here can help you further. Good Luck!!

Here are some undercarriage/engine shots. Still trying to decide if I am going to make the trip tomorrow (400 miles round trip)

Nothing wrong with current crate 454. Just offered other motor as an option for the car.

I will try to get numbers and such tomorrow.

not bad looking but original master cylinder is missing, looks to be wrong crossmember for BB. and guys excuse my ignorance but I thought NOM meant numbers matching? doing google I found: New Order Mormons, National Organization for Marriage- I some how doubt its either of these?

Thanks for the input. I think NOM stands for "Non Original Motor"

But I may be wrong....it happens quite a bit

Looks like it has a pretty big hole cut in the trans tunnel that has a metal patch screwed back down over it. Makes you wonder if it had a 4 speed as some point in it's life. That could be a sign the car was used for racing at some time.

Looks like someone added a piece to the back of a turbo 350 trans crossmember.
Geez I was so busy looking at the hole in the crossmember I never noticed that the std shift/PG crossmember was modded for Turbo 400 :clonk:

Here is another scary floor pan shot. I guess the floor has some bondo/patch work. It looks pretty scary. The under carriage makes looks like they spray bombed over bondo.

Not sure how solid it really is under there. Anyone close to the dealer? I would pay to have someone go inspect it.

Thanks
