EFI fuel line

I am getting ready to start my efi install. I have a 3/8's s.s hardline now for my carb set up that I am planning to use as the return line.
I have a 1/2 s.s. premade hardline I purchased at a swap meet a while back. It is an exact replica of the 3/8's line. Because my car in finished there is no way to install the new 1/2 line beside it without cutting it once maybe twice to fit and sit nicely beside the original line.
What would you do,
Forget about the hardline and just buy/run 1/2 fuel hose?
Downside, mainly just appearance in my opinion
Or use a combination of hardline and hose for a neater look.
The downside would be the extra connections which create a possible place for a leak I guess.

If you have 1/2 line made, use it. Buy 3/8 aluminum and bend it to fit along side.

The existing 3/8" ought to be plenty if you're going to use it as the return line. That's what I did. For the supply line, I used teflon flex line mounted along the hard line. You'd need -8 at a minimum I reckon, maybe -10.

Since my pump has to be mounted at the bottom edge of the fuel tank to prime, using the hard line as the send line wasn't really an option unless I wanted to cut off the section going up the rear frame rail.

At 690HP in your signature, you need 1/2". NO HOSE, the high pressure of fuel injection will permeate fuel smell like crazy, you will have to move out of your house the garage will smell so bad. Been there done that. IF you cannot lower the subframe to snake the line through, I would find someplace I could cut the line, and then flare and reconnect the line with steel female tube nuts and sleeves with a -8 male / male adapter.

You probably do not have a 1/2 flare kit, most do not, your local hydraulic shop can most likely flare the tube and supply the steel fittings to reconnect.

Just make sure wherever the reconnection is, there is room for the bulge of the fittings. this way you will have a safe, none smelly fuel system.

BTW, if you do this right, you could put the fuel filter at the cut and reconnect.

I started installing the 1/2 s.s. line last nite. It is putting up a bit of a fight.I have decided to cut the 1/2 s.s. line just in front of the rear wheel by the front of the spring hanger. I have Areoquip versi flareless tube adapters and will use them for putting the an fittings on the ends and for the union in the middle. I have cut 18 inches off of the front and rebent it toward the bell housing where I will go to hose. I have black Areoquip starlite hose? I got at a swap meet. I will try it. I know teflon is the action but it is pricey and I got this so I got to try it. The existing 3/8's will be the return.

Teflon HOSE is what eliminates that issue. Just like what modern cars use.

"If" you guys talk me into buying more hose (teflon), can I use my existing fittings or do I have to use specific fittings for teflon?
