I want to upgrade my factory tach and speedo in my 67. Can anyone tell me what size and what auto meter series options I have? Also want to put four gauges under ash tray or install above radio. Any pics to look at?

I replaced my driver side with Auto Meter 5" carbon fiber speedo and tach. They sink in perfectly. I also installed a Covan's center panel with four Auto Meter 2-5/8" carbon fibers there. I have a thread here somewhere on it.

Here's a pic you can sort of see them.

Yes Jim I think thats it. Do you have any pics? I think your car is silver like mine, how do they look inside?
I'll get some pics in the daylight tomorrow and post up.

Yes my car is Porsche Silver. The gauges are carbon fiber to match my sill plates, shifter cover, glove box and a couple other things, so they look right. They light up red at night. I'm very happy with them.

Here's my thread but apparently I must have moved the pics... I'll track them down and post.

Yeah, it's a shift light. It's laying down in that pic. It's an original '68 dash and console with a new dash pad cut to fit the cage. Here's one the way the light looks.

I like it. Do you know if the sport comps fit? and if covans sells black center panel? nice work!
The Sport Comps come in 5" also, so I believe they're the same size. And yes, Covan's sells a black center panel. Thanks!

This car always got my attention because it was just how I have wanted t build my own. Have to keep in touch with you ,, have lots of questions. I really want to take my car to the dragway on the weekends and it looks like your car is all ready.. Boy she hooks up!

Is there a shift light available for the 5" phantom tach? How does the light work on the carbon fiber? Ex how do you program your light to activate at selected rpm.
Do you mean integrated into the tach? I believe you can buy them that way. If you mean separate from the tach, yes, there are shift lights available of all styles, you can mix with their tachs. The shift light I have is adjustable to almost any RPM with a dial on the back side of it. You can also get them with RPM chips.
