I have a factory 12 bolt from a 69 camaro. I will sale as is or I can also sand it and paint it. It is a posi and I believe it has aftermarket 5:13 gears. The casting date code is d240 and the build codes are c bs 0507 g2. It has new brakes shoes and wheel cylinders. Was told I could get about $1200- $1500 for it. Any reasonable offer above $1100 will be taken. If I am asking to much please let me know. Thanks

Re: 69 camaro factory 12 bolt rear differential complete

What's the casting number? The date code you list is Apr. 24, 1970 unless the 0 is actually a 9.

Re: 69 camaro factory 12 bolt rear differential complete

the axle tube code is -- c bs 0507 g2--- I measured everything and it is the correct measurement for a 69 camaro. I did alot of reasearch and it all points to it being a original rear diff for a 69 camaro. I didn't and don't want to mislead anyone. I found that some late 69 camaros have 12 bolts installed with the 1970 build code. From what I can see the casting date code on the center is d240. If anyone has more info please chime in.

looks like a 70 nova 12 bolt - was originally CBS - 3.31 posi 12-bolt. Rolo I'd be interested and local but the gear kills me!

The codes and infor you got is exactly what I found. The only thing I couldn't find was if it was for a nova or how to verify what car it actually was for. I am going to try and clean up the numbers a little more and get a better look at the date code. Yeah somebody replaced the original gears with these other ones at one time.
