I am starting to restore a 69 Camaro. The car has a very important history to me and this is the reason i am starting this project. The car was my dads back in the day and when he had it he transplated a 1970 F1 ram air 400 into the camaro and the turbo 400 tranny. Then my dad got married to my mom (of course) and then had his first kid, my sister in 1983. Well when my sister was born he took the car off the road and it sat in the woods behind our house. I remember when i was 6 or 7 i used to go back there and prentend i was driving her. Then my parents divorced and we moved to florida and my dad had the car shipped down from jersey by my uncle. well while on the way down a bubble gum machine fell on the roof and busted the windshield out and then he park the car at the new house under a tarp. well the years went by and i would always ask my dad about it and if we could work on it, he always said one day when we have the time and money. So after many years of pestering he finally gave in. When i completed high school in 2004 he told me the car is yours. I was excited of course. I dragged the car out of my dads yard and it was off to my buddys shop where i could start the work. i worked on her for about a year then ran out of money so i set it aside. next thing i know i am married and now have a son and just bought a house. so i just now got it over to my new place and the work is being resumed once again. it needs everything. Floors, quarter, roof, ect. i already have most of the stuff so ive been working on her at nights after work and on my one day off since i work 2 jobs. all said and done the cars been sitting for 27 years and i cant wait till the day i get to drive her. i know it will be a while but hopefully it will be done by the time my son is able to drive lol. ill have to post some pic up later but like i said shes in rough shape but the car just means to much to me to not bring her back. just thought i would share my store and keep yours eyes open for some progress pics.

The best thing I can tell you is keep your nose to the grinding stone. Make a list of things you want to do, like quarters, floors, trunk pan, body pieces. Then move on to engine, tranny and interior. If you break all the big projects into little ones, it doesnt seem as bad. Concentrate on finishing one task before you move on to another. There is alot of help in this forum, so use it. Also, I can hook you up with a four speed. Ive got several.. And I live in the panhandle...

well i looked though my photo album and found this pics. they are really crappy since they are a pic of a pic that i took with my iphone. but this is before we dug her out of the grass at my dads house. as of now the car sits in my garage with no roof no front metal. i got the floor pans the other day and i am working on getting them in. I have a new roof skin, orignal fenders, hood, doors waiting at my storage unit and i replaced the trunk lid already. still alot more to do but for now the floors are up first. well here are the crappy pics.

well guys im kinda bringing this back from the dead. im still plugging along on the car. again and always money is a issue. i got the floors in and new doors on. i did a rear disc brake conversion with 02 blazer calipers. And im going down Sunday to get the front disc brake setup, also got a master and booster off a chevelle that will be going on. Shaved the upper part of the firewall. Replaced all tie rod ends and upper lower control arm bushings and ball joints with new shocks and stock v8 springs. My dad and i fixed the rotted out frame rail in the rear and put all new air shocks and bushings in the rear. got the rear filler panel in and mocked up the passenger quarter panel with the outer wheel well. Got a 3 row racing radiator for her too and a B&M mega shifter.
im sure im missing some things but all in all im doing what i can when i can with the money i got. just need a few more body panels then i will have all the sheet metal i need to complete the project. Driver quarter and outer fender well and the inner fender wheel well for the front passenger side. Other then that everything is going good. ill see if i can get some pics up soon but shes coming along, slowly but its happening.
