Re: Dyno Tommorow, Anyone want to guess on the HP??

Oscar......are you sure about that duration number at 50 thousandths lift? If that is right then that cam would be for a small block pro stocker, lol.

Re: Dyno Tommorow, Anyone want to guess on the HP??

Its a custom ground and with what i was wanting to do, thats what he sent/ground. I ask the same thing 3 different time (kinda making him mad) but he ensured me it was @50. I then ask if he was talking about advertised duration, he said no. So I'm still in doudt. He said its basically a race came (or 700 lift cam) but with a 600 lift. I'm still not 100 percent convinced. I will be in your neck of the woods in the morning getting a dyno

Re: Dyno Tommorow, Anyone want to guess on the HP??

As Michael suggests, a little heavy on duration at 0.050". If adv duration, I'd guess 375 to 400 hp. Same with torque.

Re: Dyno Tommorow, Anyone want to guess on the HP??

I'm guessing around 390, but wishing for around 430.... When the engine guy set the engine I told him what I was wanting to do. Run the car as hard as I can in the 1/4 but drive on the street. Told him I did not care about vacuum/or gas. When I drive it its not for driving slowly around town, but for chasing/running other cars..lol

Well we will have to wait a little longer the dyne guy wants me to put more miles on the engine. He did a small pull just to set up carb and said he feels it should easily be 400 to the wheels. So I will try again next week? Also said he thinks I will have around 24 to 28 percent drivetrain lost

My guess, 382 - 413 rwhp spinning up to around 6,800 rpm.

You should easily make 380 to the wheels assuming the motor makes 430 which should be quite easy.
With such a big cam and an open plenum intake and a big old 750 AED there wont be much vacuum which may have a bad signal to the carb causing it to run fat, if it does, it should pick up tremendous power if you can get it tuned right.
It's not worth doing more than 1 pull if the a/f is off the charts, bring jets springs, power valves etc...
Wouldn't hurt to have a little more compression, but a friend had a 383 LT1 with about 310* total duration and ran very well.
Good luck!
