whats up very intresting question for someone out there i've got a 68 large journal 327 with stock 882 heads can i run a set of clamier pistons part#3234h 1.5 dome without worrin about pocketing the heads or would i have to have everything machined out i will be running stock 327 rods/crank full rotating assy for 327?;)

First off , If I got the head numbers correct, these are 76cc smog heads that unless you changed the valves out, normally come with 1.94 intakes and are prone to cracking at the valve seats.

Now, I did some math with what I THINK you have and compression is 7.9:1. Great for a blower.

A long time back I used these smog heads with a 12.5 dome piston, with no decking, thick gasket I was till able to keep compression in the 10's but it was a dumb street car.

You can do some simple homework math on this motor to find out just what you can do with it. Probably heads would be my first guess if you are serious.

Thats correct on the heads as far as cc's but in not real used to straight lining im a circle track guy and thats all we ever used were 882 heads with bigger valves which i have done with these but have not had them shaved but i was unaware of the cracking issue with these what about vortex or camel back heads?

You would not have any head deck left if you shaved these heads down to 60-64 cc. best bet would be votec. need to sit down and do you math here if you have a circle or drag car. Think you have some rules in this game? $$ spent on the car limit??
