Looks really good. Are you painting the bumpers?

Thanks! Rear bumper will stay chrome but ended up buying an endura bumper so it will get paint.

Also, the wife decided she wanted hockey stripes ghosted in instead of rally stripes. So what she wants is what she gets!

Im liking the body work. Is it too much to ask what you are paying? I just got my 1st 69 Camaro yesterday and the first thing I want to do is the body/paint.
Gil, welcome aboard! :beers::beers:
Use the search key as you will be able to find much information from time past.

Price is dependent on the final quality you want and the shop doing it. I have been building cars for years and my painter retired. Some of the locals are smoking crack if they think they can get 25k from me or my customers on cars where all the metal work is done.
First determine what level of quality you want, then find a shop where it will not be collecting dust the next 3 years.
As with anything, price is relative.

Price is something Iim kinda not at liberty to discuss. Roger McCarty (shop owner) and I are friends and are trading out some of the cost of the project. Im also providing some of the labor as part of the agreement. (This is NOT his normal shop practice however!)

The scope of the project is grown way beyond what he and I started to do. Safe to say 5 to 8 grand would be a deal for what we're doing with 10k probably closer to the mark. Looking back I should have just blown the whole thing apart and put it on the rotiserie. (Roger has one of those too!)

Tonight I went by after work and did some wet sanding in the door jambs, dash and the front bumper in prep for color. No pics today but Ill try to get some tomorrow. I can tell you the car is SICK straight. Having a solid rust free car to start with has made this much easier to work. Had I had to put floors, quarters, doors, cowl, fenders etc in this project it wouldnt be happening. My pockets just arent that deep.

Plan now is to start spraying color this weekend. Ill keep the thread updated.

Ran by and grabbed a couple quick shots today.

Camaro has some good company this week as well. Didnt get any pics but will later. Got a few Corvettes, a Shelby that got smacked and a Bentley (that someone carved pretty much the opposite of "I love you" in the hood )

Then there's my newest hotrod that I get to work on once her's is done.

Cant wait.....

Hey Chris sounds like you and I are in the same boat as far as our projects go. My job cost will probably double and Have the same deal with the owner. I can only imagine how much more it would have cost otherwise. Also wish I would have just put it on the roto. Very simular builds. Did you say you are going satin black? What about the interior?

Car is looking awesome.

Looking good. I would suggest you pre-fit your endura bumper before painting as they generally do not fit well and will more than likely need some massaging to fit. I did not use the outer brackets as they won't fit in the space between the bumper and the body.My car was originally and endura car so I have the original brackets as well. By the way my 69 RS/SS bb was built to my wife's specs as well and is done after 2.5 years. Black with white Z stripes and interior.

This is what I did after work today..... Roger stayed late and let me spray the clear on the bottoms, backsides and door jambs to get a feel for the gun and the clear. I dont do this every day so I appreciate the indulgence.

Roger sprayed the color earlier today so it was ready to clear when I got there. Wife was there taking pics and the color was dead on to what we had in mind. (VERY dark green that looks black in everything but direct sun)

Cant wait to get it finished.

Stopped by today and shot some pics of it in the sun.....

Wow.....

Love the color! Here you can see the green. (sun is hitting it full on in this pic)

No tape lines....

I dig the shot of the roof....

Ordered some more parts and we start assembling it tues nite! Still need to find a color for the hockey stripe. Was planning on ghosting it with lighter green but now Im thinking a dark grey to contrast but not lose the "sinister" look it has. Planning on blacking out the window trim as well.

Thoughts?

Tonight after work I went by and helped Roger hang the doors and fenders. Tomorrow he can shim the fenders and tape up the hockey stripes. Ordered some parts for this stage from Rays Classic Chevy's here local to me.

Door handle gaskets, front sheetmetal bolt kit, hood and door bumpers, domelite and a dashpad. Will pick that up tomorrow (friday)

All goes well the headliner gets put in early next week then I can get the glass put back in it.

Inner fenderwells are already blasted and powdercoated.

Back glass and side windows are tinted.

Have all the weather strip and felts for it, new H4 headlamps, and and and....

Im liking this part.... :D

Some pics:
