That is a while for the block to sit, but not unheard of.

I can't tell on the engine pad. Looks reasonable, but need a good pic to say for sure. You'll need to rotate the alternator out of the way.

Can I get a pic of the protectoplate / dealer stamp? :)

I finally see what I'm looking at. :)
The pad was decked and they stopped the cutter right after it took off the corner of the pad stamp.
I'm pretty sure it's the original stamp that's left.

Yes, it was restored then.
They had no pic of the partial VIN. The only pic that was better was their tag picture. :)

shouldn't the partial vin have the 19N before te VIN number ?? I dont see it in the pic ??? and the VIN on the block should match exactly the VIN on the trans ?? atleast I thought..... The VIN on the trans has the 19N before the actual VIN number...

My friend advised the 19N6 is there but not visible in his photo. If you look carefully to the left of the box he drew on the picture you can see the 6 and part of the n. He had trouble getting an angle that would show it all.

I do see something there now that You mention it....:hurray:

Looks like You have the real deal !! Congrats !!!

I used lacquer thinner and kept soaking that area where the VIN is in order to get a real goos pic of the stamping.

If you ever pull the engine and trans. it would be nice to get better pics and compare the two stamps as they should be identical.....as they were stamped at the same time by the same stamp.

PLEASE be careful making blanket statements such as ALL were VIN stamped. The instructions were to stamp everyone however people make mistakes, and of all mistakes to make when dealing with engines... stamping the damn thing is lowest on list of concerns.
If this engine has no VIN stamp and is legit, that will be at least 4 late march to early april DZ's without VIN's...
