All right you Camaro experts; I'm in need of help. Just bought a 97 Camaro v6 with 76000 miles that sat for two years. I drained the fuel and changed all filters, spark plugs and wires (not fun!), and all fluids. I have since put 3500 miles on it with out any problems till now. The car now stumbles and then dies without regard to speed. It will restart without much problem. I am leaning toward fuel pump but want other opinions given the cost of pump and time to change out. Fuel pressure with pump running is about 50psi; pump goes off it drops to about 46psi; it will continue to drop psi. I don't have the shut off lines to isolate the leak to the pump or FPR or leaking injectors. Car runs fine gets good mileage and is easy to start no matter how long it sits. So I would rule out FPR and injectors. When the car is running the needle on the gauge bounces rapidly. While driving the psi varies in accordance with throttle but doesn't fall below 40 psi. Cannot tell if it drops below 40 psi when it stumbles and stalls. Never any codes set and all sensors working within specified parameters. Could it be something with ignition or some short? Any help would be great.
