Let me just say that there are to many lowballers on this site. Thats all.
You think $40K for the car in question is a good price? What's your valuable input here? Would you rather see a fellow TC member overpay? Would you put $40K of hard-earned cash in this car?

A 6 cylinder base coupe with a decent paint job, an interior that is completely mismatched, and a carbureted LS doesn't equal a $40K right now, and it only breaks $30K if the body is solid under the paint. Not lowball, just the way it is.

Yeah there is a lot for sale right now, but the sellers are also asking inflated prices for the current market (as we can see here). I have been looking for a '69 Camaro for about 6-8 months now, maybe Im just too picky haha.

Trust me there are deals if you look. I bought my car for 5K and have put another 10K into it. It is a real 6 banger, original owner protecto plate car, all GM Docs, stripped to bare metal. Not a perfect car or anything special, but I know what I have. I plan on spending another 5 on it for a drive train upgrade. I agree with the other guys. 20 to 25K these days should get a half decent car. I have seen some here in the classifieds sell in that range. It can be done. Hang in there and search daily. You will find the right car soon.

You can buy cars for 1/2 of what people have in them now. Easily.... I would not be surprised if that guy did not have 40K in that car. Its a 6 cylinder car, so he started with the cheaper car.........
