I just finish reading your post and it is a great story. But the most incredible thing to me is that I have a double of your car but with the JL8 four wheel disc option. My car is Lemans blue with black stripes and a black vinyl top and a black standard interior.

I haven't ever see another car with the same color combo like mine.

My suggestion to you is to try to keep the car the most original way you can. There are not many cars out there like yours.

Congratulations on that great find !!!!

Yeah I have not scene a car with my color combo also. Usually I see white stripes. I wanted to ask you guys who commented on the rust remover, does that stuff really work like shown on the web page? If so that stuff is magic!!!!!

Manny, like a lot of others, I just recently read the whole thread. Great story. A little advice. I would not even respond to any negative comments. There are some jokers on here and probably a lot of jealous people. You have an awesome car. Who cares if a few items are not original?

I would not say that you stole the car. That is too negative. I would say - YOU GOT A REALLY GOOD DEAL.

I agree with all of the comments about trying to keep it as original as possible. You may want to improve a few things, but that is totally up to you.

I actually drove my car yesterday on the old dry rotted atlas tires!! That is the first time the car has been driven since 1976!! My kids came along for the ride and where thrilled!! We only went around the block but we all got out of the car smiling. She runs pretty good considering how long she sat!!!

That's ok I am not into the car for its value I just love owning it. But.... with that said I am due to renew my insurance and was wondering what I should have the car insured for? I know it is a very soft market but to replace the car would be very hard to do so with that said what do you think she is worth?

I would get an appraisal form someone who "knows" Camaros. If you are going with a Old car type of insurance. They pay on the agreed value. If it hasn't changed much from the original pictures even in todays market it has to be plus 40 grand. I had an unrestored 31,000 mile orignal and it was in mint condition. The new owner told me the current appraisal as of last year was 70,000 Can.
