my son bought a new camaro pace car. he has 1500 miles on it and the
brakes are squeaking. took it back to dealer and they cleaned the pads
and reinstalled them. squeaking again. anyone have any info on this?
did factory have a recall or ? i think there is too much metallic in the
orig pads.

Squealing brakes are caused by just a couple of things. I've found quite often that loose pads will cause noise. I've had limited success with the put it on the back of the pad squeal stopper products. Another cause is glazed pads, Altering driving still seems to be a temporary cure as I revert back to my old "hard on brakes" driving style eventually. I did find a product that goes on the friction side of the pads back in the mid 80's made by Kent Moore I think. That stuff works! Ask your local Mercedes dealer if they've ever used something like it, that's how I found out.

Does his Camaro have the 4 piston Brembo brakes? I have the 4 piston Brebos on my other car and they squeak a lot, that said the Brembos tend to squeak by their nature in any application. GM added weights to the calipers to reduce harmonics, they look like wheel weights on the calipers. Check to be sure they are in place, I know this sounds crazy but was GM's fix. Look at any of the new SS's and you will see the weights on the calipers. See the link below.
