Good day, just wondering if anyone else here is using hamburger oil pan #1088? I installed this on my 350 and dropped the engine in my 68 tonight. Rubbing on the crossmember. Pretty sure I have the correct motor mount brackets, but will check that out further tomorrow. Would likely be able to pry the pan up to get some clearance, but will do that only as a last option.
Thanks again for all help.
Phil

My builder originally installed a Stef's pan that looked similar to that one. When I looked at it on the dyno I told them I didn't think it would fit a first gen. They called up Stef's and were told sure enough it wouldn't. A 4" stroke pan on a 350 is a little bit over kill and not many places make one that'll fit correctly in a first gen.

When the application says "fits most chassis" almost always first gen Camaros and some Chevelles are the reason they only say "most".

That does not sound right , I would call the manufacturer maybe it is the wrong pan. The crank gets lube from oil splash so I don't know if denting the pan would be a great idea. Good luck
Mike, cranks since the Blue Flame 6 Corvette engine use a pressurized system. As such the oil in the pan is kept away from the crank. Oil comes from the crank and out to the pan. That's why we use windage trays and dry sump systems. Stirring up your oil with your crank is never good.:D
