Been having pop in muffler while idling, changed plugs and wires, checked timing ok.If I disc vac to dist,no popping. What to look for? When I recon va,poping again.

no I don't,but I did replace my old one that was dead, maybe this one is putting too much in?.
If you still have the old one, compare the slot(travel) with the new one. I bet the new is longer. With your timing light you should be able to tell how much it is adding and make a limiter if you want to reduce it.

Well I did put another gasket under the carb and did the spry around the intake thing and get no rpm increase, checked the pcvno luck, what else can I do to find vaccum leak?

I don't think you have a vac leak. Find out what the VA can is giving you at idle with your timing light. You may have to idle it down lower so that the centrifugal is not contributing(any or as much) while you test.

Ok,heres the deal,I talked to mallory tech and he said, the vac canister is adjustable,(new to me) said can has 12 deg in it.I need a 3/32 allen to do it.As I recall it didn't come with one.So the unite has 24deg in it and I had init set at 12.So where do I find a 3/32 allen long one?Didn't know it was adjustable.

Yeah, but... If it's like the Crane adjustable can, the allen wrench controls the spring tension which controls at what vac reading advance comes in and out. There is also a travel limiter which controls the total amount of advance the can will provide. The allen wrench is typical length, not that long.

If Mallory has a specific doc on their website for setting it up, I'd follow that. The Crane one has been posted here before at some point.
