I was just fooling around under the hood, and with the wife's help pushing the gas pedal, I realized I'm not getting full throttle with the pedal all the way down. I don't like the slop in the 69 pedal, and wondered what might be a better setup. Any opinions appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
RJ

what carb is on your vehicle now?
Should be easy to WOT with Rochester factory or Holly factory setup with correct linkage with or without ZL2 induction system. Shoot a few pics of your setup so we can see what you got there now.

It isn't that I can't adjust it now that I see the issue. I can adjust it once I cut some more threads on the rod, but I never liked the original equipment plastic floor bracket or the sloppiness in it. Last one on there split into two pieces. Guess I truly have a lead foot.

I have a Quik Fuel 750 by the way.

I once had the same problem and cut threads and could just get full throttle. I learned later that my through-firewall throttle rod was twisted from some hard driving in an earlier life. After the throttle part was replaced with another GM unit it was much easier to adjust.

I shortened my throttle rod and cut new threads on it, put it together again and got full throttle, but I really want a cable set-up. Don't really care that it isn't original equipment.
Engine was hauling *** on two barrels until this fix, haha. Cant wait to get it out tomorrow and see what 4 barrels will do.
Wanted to take it up to Bradenton FL to the 1/4 mile track, instead of the local 1/8 mile. Will be better suited to that track with the 4-speed and 4.10 rears. Trouble is, you run 11.99 or quicker and then have to have roll bar and 5-point belts. or you can't come back. Not really too sure I want to put all that in.

check out the new Jegs book, they have a linkage kit that comes with billet parts, 555-15798 is the part number, also check out smith racecraft.

I purchased the Lokar (69 style) kit that has the rod that passes through the factory firewall hole. I could not get it adjusted correctly for wot, it is sitting in a box on the shelf now. Bought the stock linkage and pedal, now I have wot with no slop. Might want to make sure the pedal rod is inserted all the way through the throttle arm(the D shaped opening).
