Well Royce your "reality" picks went 100%. Sorry about your Colts man, I watched that game and they really need to work on protecting Luck better, the O line was pretty pourous. I see why Luck throws some INT's, he's throwing a lot and sometimes for his life. The Ravens looked better that they have, but Denver is going to take them apart I think. Who knows though....

Todays games were a lot more fun to watch then Saturdays games though, that was a pair of pretty mediocre games for watching. The Texans looked more like themselves and the Bengals looked really bad.
Then the Vikings, they really need help at QB, I think I could have thrown more completions... and hey, I'm only 5/8" shorte than Russell Wislon :D
But that said, I was not real impressed by the Packers. Granted Rodgers is good and can go off at any time, but I'm thinking the Niners will beat them next week unless they look a whole lot better.

And with that today, there is only one rookie QB left in the playoffs now, how about that.
I admit the first quarter was really making me nervous, but I honestly was not really freaking out at 14-0. The Hawks came out flat and did not look like themselves, they had done it before this year too, it seems like a coach gets their number, but they make adjustments and come around, and thats what they did, I just had a feeling about it, they really do play hard 4 quarters.

As for RGIII, man I don't know, but I wonder how much damage he did playing. The big story now is should he have been out there, and I don't know, hopefully him and Shanahan made the right choice and there is no major damage. It's their decision.
But he never even got hit, he planted his leg and boom, done. That knee had never had a chance to heal clearly and the ligaments/tendons just gave way.
I admit I am a hardcore long time Hawks fan, and I wanted them to win period. But when I saw RGIII go down the last time, it made me sick to my stomache. That sucks to see a player go down like that, and I like him too.

Now a few of the Washington players and fans, they kind of came off as d bags, not sure what their beef is with Seattle but there sure was a lot of chippy crap going on out there on the field, and the fans, booing our kicker and crap like that when he left to get taped up. Whatever, they can boo us next week from their couches too I guess, lol.

You can imagine I'm excited, and now it's off the Atlanta. They are a really good team, but the Seahawks can beat them. They can't let them get out to 14-0 like the skins did however, Ryan is good and has some weapons to score with.
It looks like we will be without our leading sacker too, that sucks but such is football.

Go Seahawks

GOT IT! Arrived Monday. Thanks a lot--that was kind of you. Love it!

I'm glad you like!

So, next weeks predictions?

Broncos/ Ravens
Patriots/Texans
Niners /Packers
Seahawks/Falcons

What say you?
Broncos....of course, I hope. :)
Patriots
Niners
Falcons...maybe. This one is tough

RGIII shouldn't have played as much as he did. I think it was more of him wanting to be out there. You could see he wasn't himself.

So, next weeks predictions?

Broncos/ Ravens
Patriots/Texans
Niners /Packers
Seahawks/Falcons

What say you?
Ravens/Broncos= Broncos
Texans/Patriots= Pats
Packers/Niners= Niners
Seahawks/Falcons= Seahawks, Hawks impressed me coming back from two scores down to take the game over but a healthy RG3 might have been a different game. Gonna be a tough hard hitting game, but the Niners will be waiting for the birds next week (sorry Sean) to stick a fork in their season.

Wow some great football this weekend.
Seahawks looked great, I was impressed but Washington was in sad shape.
Man RG3, why the heck did they let him destroy himself? Dude may be a one hit wonder now. In 10 years when Luck is up there with the greats, breaking records and getting inducted people will be like RG who?

Ravens are scary, I always get worried they are gonna hurt someone when the Pats have to play them. Ray Lewis thing was cool, putting him at fullback for his final play at home, he had a great game. Nice little send off.

Colts just could not get into the redzone, Ravens defense was running balls out, would have been sweet to see them play Denver ;)

Vikings - Green Bay game was entertaining, started out tight..
Packers deserved that win for sure.

Texans played well, I didn't think that the Bengals would give them a run for it. Maybe all that talk about an easy schedule was for the was Texans right..

Jonesy, you're really fond of me, aren't you? I mean, you actually went back through all of my posts just to find that one. Now let's make this crystal clear, Jonesy...I like you, too, even though you're a crybaby and hold grudges :D Yeah, we did tie, but I really didn't take the Pickem too seriously this year since it was such a bad season for the Saints.

But I'm glad the Vikings made the playoffs, and hopefully C. Ponder will mature into a good QB for them. One thing for sure, Adrian Peterson really revs up the running game.

I really don't have a fearless forecast prepared for the playoffs, but never fear....
.

Casey
No grudges and nothing personal. I wouldnt necessarily say the same from your end. When your team wins, everything great. When they lose you get sour and get personal. Everything is good.

All the teams that are in should be there.

My picks

Ravens at Broncos = Broncos
Texans at Patriots = Patriots
Packers at 49ers = 49ers
Seahawks at Falcons= Falcons

As usual I agree with what Sean said. Saturdays games were kind of boring to watch. I really expected the Bengals to play better.

I didn't think the Colts had enough to get by the Ravens, the Colts have been playing over their head all season and running off emotion. When the O.C. was going to miss this game I knew that was going to be bad. I honestly don't think it would have made much difference.

The Vikings were done when the game started. A.P. can only carry the team so far at some point you need a QB. Can't expect a QB that hasn't thrown a pass all season to go on the road to GB and win. Webb couldn't hit himself in the foot with the ball if he tried. I'm sure he was nervous and the Packers are a solid team.

Now as far as the Seahawks and Redskins game, I had my twin nephews over (20 years old, sports nuts). I told them the Seahawks would win even after they were down 14, I knew they were still in good shape. I also told them after the 1st quarter the skins should pull RGIII. It was obvious that leg/knee was hurting him. Keep in mind when his knee buckled he even had on a brace, so imagine if he didn't have a brace on. The coaches are all very STUPID for letting him play. You can try to put the blame on him, but how many young atheletes are going to admit they're hurt or want to come out of the game. That's what trainers, team Dr.'s and coaches are for. I hope he didn't just ruin his career. If you go back several pages Sean and myself both said he was going to get hurt not that that was hard to predict. Very sad. He shouldn't have been on the field, he couldn't even run or plant to throw. Even with a healthy RGIII I still think the Seahawks win the game, they are a solid team and the hottest in the NFL right now.

If Russell Wilson doesn't win Rookie of the Year, something is wrong. His stats are right there (tied Peyton Mannins, rookie season TD record), his team is going the deepest into the playoffs out of all the rookie QB's. The kid can play and has a great attitude, can't help but root for him.

Next weeks games:

Packers vs Niners Niners should win this game

Ravens vs Broncos The Broncos will have too much for the Ravens. Flacco will show his true colors.

Texans vs Patriots The Texans got handled so easily last time, nothing will change, they can't play with the Patriots.

Seahawks vs. Falcons Seahawks. the Falcons have all the pressure on them, haven't won a playoff game in many years. They tend to lay eggs when they need a win. I also think they are overrated. Again the Seahawks are the hottest team in the NFL right now.

Niners

Broncos

Patriots

Seahawks

Yeah, RG3 should have been pulled when he first tweaked his knee. The Skins were up 14-0 at that point.

I like all the home teams for the upcoming games.
Not true, the Seahawks had scored 13 unanswered by the end of the 2nd quarter, and the offense had even missed a few opportunities to score more, including Lynch's fumble. I believe when he planted his knee and tweaked it the first time it was late 3rd quarter. The game was all but over when he went down the last time.

I know a lot of guys will think the Skins would have won with a healthy RGIII, but I don't agree. The Hawks came out flat and the Skins jumped on them fast, kudos to Shanahan and his crew, but once the Seahawks turned the offense around it was a different game, RGIII doesn't play defense and the Hawks offense got it back together. Keep in mind they didn't even try to score the majority of the 4th quarter.

I was impressed by Flaco yesterday on those bombs he threw.

I agree, what a shame to see RGIII go out like that. The really sad thing is that you never know, that knee may never be right again. And I heard he had a back brace on from another prvious injury. That was tough to watch, like you and I said Royce getting hurt was a matter of when, not if.
RGIII is a tough kid, and he fought through it, but at some point the coaches need to step in and protect their franchise QB.
I hate to see Russell Wilson run like he does, but if you watch him he's careful and chooses when to bail pretty well. Thats how RGIII needs to be.

Plus, what the hell is with that field? That was the poorest excuse for a proffessional footbal field I have ever seen, no wonder RGIII blew out his knee. That field makes Heinz field and Soldier look like a park. I can't believe they left it like that.
The field is one concern I had actually, the Hawks seem to play better on turf, they have some quick guys that pass rush and our corners and grass seems to slow them down. Didn't seem to be an issue though.

Denver/Ravens -Denver
Houston/ Patriots- Patriots
Packers/ Niners- Unless the Pack improves from the last few games I saw the Niners win here. I feel like they are an over rated team right now. I'm going Niners but wouldn't bet on either.
Seahawks/ Falcons- tough pick, the falcons are really good on offense, and I feel like they have been underrated due to past post season failures. The defense, not so much. This should be a good game, and the Hawks most certainly can win. I'm not going public on this pick again, but you can probably guess...:D

I could be wrong but I thought he hurt it in the 1st quarter when he threw off his back foot and started limping a little.

Yes he was pretty much gimpy from the start, he tweaked it in the first quarter or ealry 2nd quarter. Botton line is you have to play with who and what you have at game time.

Heck I could be wrong too Don. The way I remember it was the Hawks had got their offense together finally and started moving the ball before the first tweak, but I certainly could be wrong.

I honestly don't think it would have mattered, it would have been a closer game, and they would have really had to step up the game after letting the Skins get up 14 points, but I really think they would have won anyway.
The first quarter was an anomoly, they have done that before earlier in the season, come out flat or missed the oponents game plan, or whatever, and they have had an uncanny abilty to get it straightened out, since probably week 4-5 I think. Thats about the time Wilson really cut loose and took over. He is as cool as a cucumber (whatever that means, lol) and the rest of the team really plays off of that, they never get rattled really, and play hard untill the end.

What they can't do is get 14 points behind against Atlanta this weekend, if thgey come in playing well they have as much chance as anyone to beat the Falcons.

Yeah no doubt Royce, he was gimpy against Dallas. When I watched the Skins/ Dallas game I could decide which was better, flying across country to play the skins and a clearly injured RGIII, or stay closer to home and play a Dallas team that we seem to own lately, that has been sketchy at best. Dallas should have won that game, but Tony Romo took care of that little issue..lol

I think the Seahawks would have still won against a healthy RG3 however it would have been a closer game. Once the momentum swung to the Seahawks it was go time. To me...for an important game like it was, ahead 14-0 RG3 should have been replaced. Sad that the Colts season ended as it did and that they lost as bad as they did. No scoring a touchdown in a playoff game pretty much will end your season.

The year the Colts won the super bowl they beat the Ravens and neither team scored a touchdown. The Colts over achieved this season, nobody expected them to make the playoffs, including me. That was just a bonus game. That team is not a playoff quality team, but the future looks pretty decent.

I agree about RGIII, but they have to live with that decision. I just hope it isn't too bad. Not sure what they were thinking by leaving him in. Just about any healthy man could out run him by the end of the 1st quarter. So why not let Couzins play and try to hold on to the lead? I think the end result would be the same, except RGIII would be closer to recovering instead of injured worse.

I saw some highlights of this game yesterday, and RGIII actually did kind of tweak his leg a bit the first time with 3:00 left in Q1, the score was 7-0 at the time. So you where right the first time was earlier in the game. The end was end of Q3 or beginning of Q4 I believe.

I still think the results would have been the same, but it would have been closer. Once Seattle's offense got it together they moved the ball well. The Skins are no joke though, they have shut down the run for the most part but Lynch had a big game rushing for the Hawks, and Wilson too.

On a side note, it's funny how the national media is talking about the Seahawks now, maybe even believing in them.
What I don't like is they are really underestimating the Falcons I think. All year they keep calling for them to start losing but it has not happened. They are a good team and very dangerous on the offense. The problem is Matt Ryan has a big zero in the playoff win column, and their strength of schedule has been kind of light I believe.
That could be good and bad for the Hawks, all the pressure is on Ryan and the Falcons to win.

We'll see!
