I have been out of the car scene for about 30 years. I have a 69 pacecar and a 69 ss350. Both relatively original condition. been sitting in barn for 30 and 40 years respectively. both ran good when parked. just wondering what something like these is worth now days.
Thanks,
Lance

Hi Lance,

Welcome to Team Camaro!

Nice set of cars you have there. As noted, the more information we have, the more accurate estimate of values. Planning on getting them running again, restoring or selling?

I will be in the Billings area the week of January 15th and would love to meet up to talk Camaros, if you are available and anywhere close (Montana is a big state for those of you on the East Coast)!

re: 69 pacecar & 69 ss350

Thanks, Ed.
I was hoping to get some ballpark estimates for 50 year old camaros. The ss350 I believe I bought from original owner, is all original, 4 spd, 12 bolt posi, still has smog pump. The interior was pristine when I parked it, however mice got into it. The pacecar I bought from the original owners, it has smog pump removed, and repainted(original colors). It also has small rust appearing above the rear wheel wells. I don't know if motor is original, I assumed it was when I bought it 40 years ago. It looks great from 40 feet away. These are unrestored cars that look like they were driven as daily drivers for 10 years, then parked. I had a couple of unrestored, extremely nice, rust free 1979 Firebirds that I sold last year. One was a "Redbird" very nice, with T-tops, factory t-top cases, factory mini spare with GM explosive tire air filler canister and factory luggage rack. The guy that bought it won two first place trophies within one month of purchasing it. The other was all original Turbo transam. Both ran excellent, with no dents and no rust. I sold them unaware of what they evidently were worth, $4500 each, according to car guys(after I sold them). If I decide to put the Camaros up for sale, I don't wanna make the same mistake.

re: 69 pacecar & 69 ss350

Thank you, Charlie,
Yes, Montana is big. The distance from the Yaak to Alzada is about the same distance as Chicago to Atlanta. I live in Kalispell/Libby.
Don't know for sure what to do with them. I wanted to sell them a few years ago, but the kids got mad at me. I always planned to restore them, but for the cost of restoration now days, I could buy a new Lamborghini and Hendrick Motorsports to boot. We had to evacuate for a forest fire 18 months ago, and the Pacecar fired right up. I didn't try starting the SS350, as it has been sitting for 40 years. I have no doubt I could get it running relatively easy. I cant remember where the SS350 was sold originally, but the Pacecar came from Great Falls.

Thanks, Don, but I tried to log on to Hagerty and it wont let me. It says my email is wrong. Go figure.
I used the appraisal tool without logging on.

If these are rust free and 'all there' they are $10-15k each. Documention, how they were stored, condition will take prices up from there.

It sounds like your storage is good if the Red Bird was taken from there, detailed, and on the show circuit.

I assume the pace car is a small block also.

Yes, both ss350's. I turned down so many big blocks (pig blocks) in the mid 70's when I was looking to purchase them. If I'd only known then.... but with gas prices and longevity, nobody wanted a big block back in the day.

Pacecar probably 35k plus
4 speed SS probably 30k plus

Pics would give us a much better idea.. both are cool cars.

Well, there's the price range. :) Definitely need pics at least. Mice damage isn't confined to the soft interior parts...

From Hagerty.

Pace car:

Current Values

#1 Concours$89,400
#2 Excellent$59,200
#3 Good$47,200
#4 Fair$35,500
#4 vehicles are daily drivers, with flaws visible to the naked eye. The chrome might have pitting or scratches, the windshield might be chipped. Paintwork is imperfect, and perhaps the body has a minor dent. Split seams or a cracked dash, where applicable, might be present. No major parts are missing, but the wheels could differ from the originals, or other non- stock additions might be present. A #4 vehicle can also be a deteriorated restoration. "Fair" is the one word that describes a #4 vehicle.
Value Adjustments

+20% for RS pkg. +25% for RS pkg on factory SS cars. +20% for factory 4-spd (exc. Z/28 and Yenko). +10% for JL8 brakes. -30% for 6-cyl. -10% for 3-spd.

SS:

Current Values

#1 Concours$54,400
#2 Excellent$41,600
#3 Good$34,000
#4 Fair$24,400

Thanks Clill.
Well, I asked for it. Seems to be quite a difference in estimated values. I thought there would be a more consistant idea of the values. Yes, I realize condition is everything, but estimates from 10k - 35k really don't narrow it down much. I know what they go for in restored condition - Barrett Jackson sold a stock restored 69 Pace Car for $120k.
Thanks to all for your replies,
Lance

Thank you Don!
That's the info I was looking for. I guess all considered, they're only worth what someone is willing to pay, but at least I have a better idea of the values.
Thanks, again to all.
