Low-mid 20's is my guess. Sure wonder what's hiding under that bright red paint ...

…. It may be a great car, but 68's are the middle child and don't bring as much as 67 or 69. Not saying they are bad cars, just the facts. This was in no way a jab at 68's. I like all Camaro's except gen 4. Sorry gen 4 guys.
This is BS …. Unless you're referring to Z/28 or some other low production model, L78 maybe, 67 and 68 prices are basically the same. Yes, in general, 69's are a bit higher.

Jab taken !:boxing: Why else would you say that ? Or are you saying if the same car (build quality, pieced together components, etc) was a 69, the price (39K) would be within reason ??….:noway:

EDIT; I see our assessment for this 68 is about the same (low 20's), tell me Keith, what would it be worth if it was a 67 or 69 ?? lol

Garth. Its not opinion, its fact. Look at the trends. Look at the past auctions, or even eBay . 67 and 69 sell for more. It is what it is. Chevelle, Camaro, Nova, Corvette, even the pickups . The color does not help either. If you want to take it as a jab, then that's your opinion. It was not meant that way, but sometimes the truth hits you like a jab. The same car in a 67 or a 69 for some reason brings more money. I like the 68 better than the 67. Not a fan of the vent windows. However on the 68 I don't like the awkward last thought looking marker lights, or the top of the door thick chrome trim. Just my opinion. Ideally to me I wish the 69 came with the dash and gauge pod of the 67/68. I personally like the early chrome bumper second gens. I did not seek out my 69. I told a guy I would buy it if he didn't want it when he got it. He called my bluff. I sold my 67 chevy 2 and kept my word. I do not dislike my 69, but a pretty much stock first gen is not as much fun to drive as the restomods. My opinion. My 69 is mostly stock. It does have a 5 speed and a bigger holley carb.

Not fact, it's opinion. And you know what they say about opinions.

I just checked NADA average values for one of my favorite Camaro's RS Convertible for all 3 first generation years.
1967: $35,100
1968: $37,500
1969: $34,100

Their facts are exactly opposite of your opinion. How about that?

Just did my own using your same site.. Using base model for all 3 years, and I believe dependant on your location determines the outcome. So using my local.. 67 base had best price. Which looking at the OP, the car really is vs the rebadged SS. Not a convertable. Also checked using SS versions in same ap.. 68 still the low one on the pole. Though 68 did take it for RS convert & SS convert, but those were the only versions I found that 68 was on top.

Let me add some perspective. Everything is overpriced at the moment here in Colorado. Property values have doubled in the last few years. Castle Pines is where the some of the richest people in the Denver metro live. If someone is truly interested in this car, I would entertain going and looking at for them since it's about half an hour from where I live.
That being said, there is no way anyone should pay a penny over $30K, realistically $25K for this car. Everything is wrong with this car from an SS point of view. It is a decent looking car and someone will probably pay $35K. I have no doubt. Rolling chassis' are going for $15K!
A true numbers matching SS Camaro should bring mid 30's depending on condition (In my opinion). However, my friend just sold a 68 SS non original drivetrain 4 speed coupe with an OK paint job for $36K and another friend just sold a 70 Chevelle SS non original motor BB for $65K. The market is crazy right now! So if you are looking to sell a muscle car for profit, put it on a trailer and bring it to Denver. Stupid people with stupid money are buying!

Sounds VERY OPINIONATED to me...I've watched a lot of cars sell over the last decade or so. Don't think I've missed a televised auction in the last 5 yrs. Never have noticed any significant difference in prices between 67 and 68 (except Z/28) one way or the other to make such a claim. No 2 cars are ever exactly the same (condition, options, etc.) anyway....

One obvious trend I have noticed is a decline in value of "numbers" cars and originality overall. I'd say it's hit 69 the hardest.:)boxing: lol) 67Z's seem to have taken a nose dive also.

So there's my point of view/ OPINION. :beers:

When was the last time someone actually used NADA. To buy a first gen. Well it was probably 1967, 1968, and 1969. KBB is so outdated that the new car dealerships only use it when you are trading something in. When they are selling they use actual sales values. Big difference between those books and what things actually sell for. But if it helps I will say that any 68 is worth $10K more than a 67 or a 69. Its not my opinion. I have sold over 28 Camaro's. Cold hard cash doesn't lie, or is opinion. John sells cars all the time. With exception of the Chevelle have you noticed what he primarily sells? Do you think he sells 69's to loose money? I go to the auctions all the time. Seeing is believing. And as Forrest Gump would say. And that's all I have to say about that. Hopefully the OP got something useful out of this thread, and has what he thinks is a reasonable value on this car. Continue the rant if you choose, can't change the facts.

Watching the auction is like watching reality TV. Very few that are sold make it on TV. Last February BJ sold almost 1900 cars . Just the February auction. Did all of them make the broadcast? The answer is that only about 25% of those cars had air time. Going to the auctions is a experience I think all would enjoy, but you don't see it all on TV.
