i'd have to look at the numbers on the belts. a word of caution though, my power steering pump seized up on me on the road this weekend.that was not fun. I'll be calling CVF today. had to cut the belt off with a knife since i didn't have tools with me. not sure what would've caused that, fluid level is fine, never squealing belt or anything.

quick update on the CVF kit. i just called them to let them know the power steering pump seized up and without any hassle or questions at all they just looked up my info, confirmed address and said " we're so sorry, i have a new one heading your way"

so we will wait and see and keep fingers crossed. still pretty pleased overall with the kit. looks good, subtle and worked great.......until it didn't...lol

I purchased CVF Wraptor for BBC, OE Fan and A/C. Aluminum (not polished). They recommend, or furnish a remote reservoir P/S tank/unit with this kit. I wanted to try an attached reservoir, which they said does not have the clearance for. I had to purchase the unit outright, which was okay with me. I was able to get it to fit. I used a hose adapter and got it to work.
Also, the belt would rub aluminum off of the water pump pulley and onto the back of the belt. I purchased a spare water pump pulley and sent it out to have the running surface Hard Anodized Type III (Black). So far I am glad I did.
Note: You need to purchase a reverse rotation Fan and Clutch. Your existing standard rotation clutch & fan will not work if you decide on the reverse rotation water pump option. This is not a kit for you, but it shows the aesthetics of the kit.

I will be getting the CVF system myself. Do you have a part number on the fan and clutch? What radiator did you go with? I have a 383 in mine. Is the pulley issue something that can be addressed with CVF?

I was just at a shop that was installing the Holley kit today on a sbc and it was very nice. Made my March system look clumsy compared the overall design of the Holley system. Might want to take another look at this system as it is very functional and uses standard and readily available componets

Update on the thread, I went for it and bought the Concept One kit, very nice kit, everything fit perfectly, including the belt alignment. Once the engine was stripped and cleaned, the kit was on in less than two hours, not including replacing the air conditioning and power steering lines. I'm very happy with the fit, looks, price and function of this kit!! Only issue is the power steering pump started whining after about 100 miles but that's probably due to the fluid I'm using.

What is on your water pump pulley? It does not look like it is aluminum. My CVF Racing pulley was aluminum and it would wear the aluminum onto the back of the belt, making it look bad. I purchased an extra pulley and had it hard anodized black. That fixed the issue. Yours looks different than black anodize. You kit looks great! I like it. Did it include the A/C compressor and the PS pump? Was the kit more than $2k?

Oh Geez, I just installed the CVF kit with polished pullies, but have yet to run the engine. Did CVF honor the lifetime warranty on the pulley?

It's not a faulty pulley. It's just a small amount that might not bother most people. It bothered me. And it appears that another company has done something to reduce/eliminate the rub-off.

My priority was functionality first, I went with a new GM serpentine setup.
Can you share some details on how you did that? Do you just buy the water pump and accessories for something like a 3rd gen Camaro with a V8?

Where did you get the fan spacer to mount the fan clutch on your wraptor kit?
I need one , to solve my fan problem.

Did you have to get a different pulley to mount spacer or did spacer have an alignment 5/8 pilot on both sides?

Probably only a couple hundred miles on mine since I got the car back on the road, but I'm not seeing a whole lot of aluminum flaking off the WP pulley... heck, all the white lettering from Gates is still on it! CGM does make a small block version of this setup, and I think its also available in black anodized.

It had the alignment feature on both ends (front and back).

It was similar to this one;

FYI, I am concerned that a 1" spacer will bend another water pump shaft. I have one bent shaft so far and even tho CVF replaced the pump, I am going to change over to electric fan - don't want to risk it again

Yeah, I don't know why my belt got silver as fast as it did. Now, if your brand had done a clear anodize and CVF did not that would have prevented the aluminum from coming off onto the belt and I am gonna bet that is why you don't have an issue.

With the 1" spacer and clutch fan I bent one and snapped one off.. not fun

Is breaking or bending the WP shaft a common issue with fan clutch or fan clutch on serpentine drive? Specifically CVF. Trying not to spend the extra $$ and time on electric fans.
For me it was. I was using Edlebrock pumps. If I was trying to do it again, i'd use a Stewart pump with a 3/4 shaft.

My pump shaft bent on a CVF system but I had a 1" spacer on the clutch fan. If you don't have a 1" spacer it will be fine.
