I am looking for input for suggestions. Two things that are bugging me about my car is the Turn signals and an inoperative horn on my 68 that the PO rewired with an AAW kit.
First off I am converting all lights over to LED and am using a digital flashers, but the issue is still the same. The turn signals work fine! but if I turn on the headlight switch either for park or HL, the flashers stop blinking and the flasher under the dash starts clicking really weird. I have replaced the rear light sockets, and replaced/repaired grounds as I had dash and trunk open. I added missing body and engine/frame grounds too. Any suggestions would be appreciated, This curtails my night time cruising.

The horns now? There was no horns on the car when I bought it, but the connectors for the horns are wired up, if I push horn button, the connector get power when I insert a test light. I bought some aftermarket repops but they dont sound when energized. Again any help on these two issues would help me get me out and cruising without worries!

Make sure the horns have a good ground to the core support. Need to remove the paint between the contact surfaces.

Thanks. I usually do that and use a star washer and never seeze on the ground connection. I’ll double check

Then try measuring the voltage between the horn ground point and battery negative terminal while someone presses the horn button. If you get anything other than 0V then there's still a bad ground connection.

As for the other problem, I suspect you have a bulb socket wired incorrectly such that when the parking lights are turned on voltage is being applied to the blinker filament instead of the the parking light filament. It could also be a bad bulb that has the parking filament shorted to the blinker filament.

Thanks for that tip. I believe the light is in the ballpark that you mentioned. I put LEDs in there, but remember the incandescent had smashed contacts, I may just get new front sockets too. I remember spraying the extension harness plug the PO made for the lights, it started to work correctly. Came back next day and not. Think I will start from scratch, luckily I have an AAW terminal kit that has all the correct plugs.

Did you put in quality 1157 KED bulbs in the park/tail lights, or cheap 1157 LED bulbs from ebay/china? I had quick flashing of my tail lights when I had the cheap ebay/china 1157 bulbs in the rear and JDM switchback amber/white bulbs in the front of my Corvair. Solved issue by putting JDM red 1157 LED bulbs in the rear. I did have the grounded turn flasher in the car from the beginning of the conversion to LED bulbs. Until I got the JDM red 1157 LED bulbs, I installed incandescent 1157 bulbs in the tail lights which had no issues.

I put quality CREE LEDs in. Think they were Morimoto. Same ones I converted my Tacoma over to.

I think I figured out the issue. For one thing the PO had the T/S wires and park light wires incorrectly installed at the radiator support plugs. The original 1157 was so boogered up and there was so much paint on the light mount, I doubt there was any grounds at all. I am installing a Digi-tails LED conversion, since it wasnt' much more than buying new light assemblies.
In process of installing and rewiring now. Im sure this will work because it would work correctly when I disconnected the parking lights when it was wired wrong. Maybe I will get lucky and have fixed the horn too. Time will tell. Thanks for all the advice guys.
