So I recently bought a 1967 Camaro project car. Im told it was just a a V8 car which I was fine with. But I started to decode my trim tag and found a code that looks to be a Z28 code. Can someone look at the tag and see if im looking at this right? The 4L code at the bottom is the one I think is the Z28 designation.
Thanks

From Camaro VIN, Cowl Tag, and other Numbers Decoding

760 Black standard buckets R-R Bolero Red (upper and lower)

W: Tinted Windshield
2L: 4-speed M20 or M21
3K: Z21 package
4L: Z28 Rally stripes with radius rod

Looks like a Z, any original drivetrain parts?

At this point, you need to be a detective. While the cowl tag appears to be original, with the drivetrain gone, the more evidence you can find, the better. Document your findings (photos). If the evidence is compelling enough, consult Jerry M for a certification. The Registry (z28camaro.com) This will all but eliminate any future doubt if/when you sell the car.(y)

Really amazing the seller advertised it as a V8 car only. Heck of a deal!

First thing I'd do is get a shipping data report through the General Motors Heritage Center, and the National Corvette Restorers Society. I did that with my 68 Z28 and it eventually lead me to the original owner of my car. Even if the original owner is nowhere to be found, just finding out the dealer it was originally shipped to could get you on the right track to finding out more info about the car.

Here's the link.

So it’s a rolling chassis with no drive train?

That's just an amazing find. Is this going to change your plans as to your restoration method because, if your going to go the route of returning it to 67 Z28 specs , it's quite an undertaking. You can even flip this and make quite a profit without doing a thing. You win both ways because of the rarity.
